have you worked your way through this list? they send you a voucher in the post and somewhere else someone had applied once per offer and had dozens of these vouchers. You pick the free bag up from various places like garden centres and vets and vet hospitals, you choose your nearest from the list

Fewer:p:rotfl::rotfl::o:rotfl:. I do wonder sometimes though, if people were applying for a job and included the word "fewer" in their CV, whether that would automatically get them rejected because the person assessing them thought it should be the word "less". I'm sure some of my applications many, many years ago were rejected because I was grammatically and linguistically correct, whereas most people don't know the rules of grammar, so they wrongly think you have it wrong. You can't win:(. In the case of the word "less", it is now used so often - and by people at the highest levels in organisations - that I sometimes wonder whether it now is correct (and using the word "fewer" is seen as pompous and odd). I think it may be best to avoid the use of the words "fewer" or "less" entirely in any CVs:rotfl::rotfl:. Particularly when you're now being assessed by people from a "younger generation" who haven't been taught properly (by my generation:o) in schools:p:rotfl:. Yes, barbed ageism criticism, but I don't case:p:cool::D:rotfl::rotfl:.0 -

Afternoon all
Eventually got OH home from hospital yesterday evening. Breathing still iffy. Hopeing the warmer weather will help him.
Anyway, Tesco petrol question to ask. Around about the middle of August I filled up my car with petrol and used my mums clubcard as she spent a lot in Tesco in July. Got a major shock when was told 4p off would I like to use that.:eek: Said ok and went on my way thinking what has gone wrong. Anyway, yesterday saw a Tesco express receipt belonging to mum and at the bottom it the petrol saving is 18p litre to be used by 31st August  Will be going round there later to see what has gone wrong. Im convinced she must be using 2 different club cards but she says no.
Anyway, if I was to find out which clubcard goes with this tesco express do I have to use this petrol allowance by 31st august as I remember someone say that you have to use this one first before the next months can be used iyswim (blimey Im confusing myself typing this lol). So, of I was to use this say middle of September, wouldnt this 18p ltr be taken off first before I could use Augusts allowance which should expire end of september.
If anyone can make sense of what Ive put, well done lol.
tia
Regarding the petrol. The 4p off was probably collected the previous month, whereas the 18p is from the next month. If that makes sense:rotfl: you can't combine the 2 together. Hth0 -
Also £1 back on Colgate Extra Clean Toothbrushes (triple pack!).
Typical! I also noticed that these were £1 in Poundland (after I have bought a few in AvT thinking we were on a really good deal ... so only saved 10p a pack in real terms!).
Anon
According to the SEL yesterday, these were now £1.80 in Morries and did not have any mbuy on. Not that I can rely on anything I see:rotfl:. They are still £1 in T on msm. Nonetheless, of "saving" of 10p is still a saving. May be useful if having to make up the 8 items - not now you've already got them but before of course - or if you have a certain amount to spend. For a 3 pack, of non-"value-end" toothbrushes, may be a lot better quality than those:eek: - 30p/33p each is quite a good price IMO. It was Mr A that shot up in price having been lower nonetheless.0 -

Got another call from my old company saying the series they have on the cards will probably be crewing up next month and they're thinking of me. I'm still living off the last pay packet I got at the start of the July thanks to the elite so happy to continue to take my time. Haven't even touched savings yetDebt free 6th December 2014

Bill Bryson says in 'Troublesome Words':
"Probably no other pair of words causes more problems, and with less justification.* The generally cited rule is that less applies to quantity and fewer to number. A rougher but more helpful guide is to use less with singular nouns (less money, less sugar) and fewer with plural nouns (fewer houses, fewer doctors)."
*have to disagree with you there, Billy boy - though I make less mistakes over this than I used to …. or is it fewer mistakes?:rotfl:'It is better to remain silent and be thought a fool, than to open your mouth and remove all doubt.'
