Picked up my new car yesterday - it's lush! Am being rather un MFW and driving around a fair bit to get used to it. DH is away but I need him to come home so he can play with it and then explain the features to me. Am chuffed I managed to get music from my phone playing through the car speakers today!
I also wrapped the first Christmas present today - sadly the first of many but psychologically feel better!
Congrats on the new car. Cars are so technological these days. I got my new car in June, and I'm still getting to grips with all the buttons and levers!Early retired - 18th December 2014

Thanks for all the best wishes guys, am getting used to the car and having that combined with being off work means I am driving a lot more. Nipped to C0stc0 this morning and drove back past a M0rr1s0ons so I filled up for 99p a litre so pleased about that.
Am meeting a friend tomorrow so more driving and lunch out so more spending - still tis the season and all that.

I am reeling with annoyance, embarrassment and upset - have been scammed regarding an £b@y sale.
The infamous 1Phone failed to sell again last week but on Mon I had a direct message from someone who needed it urgently for his son and offering £45 more than the reserve price. I accepted the offer and he requested I create a P@yP@l invoice for the item. First time doing this so I did and then had an email (purporting to be) from P@yP@l saying the buyer had paid the money into my account but it would remain 'pending' until there was proof I had posted the item.
I hot footed it to the post office and even paid extra for guaranteed next day delivery on trace and track. Emailed the details to 'P@yP@l' as requested and had a validation message by reply advising the money would show in my PP account within 24 hours.
Yesterday afternoon I had another email from 'PP' advising they had overcharged the buyer £200 and I needed to pay him this extra amount and then I would get access to his payment plus the £200 overcharge.
Also had another email from the buyer in very panicked tone with the same kind of message about his PP account being locked and me needing to transfer £200 to him.
Starting to smell fishy...
Rang PP who were very helpful but immediately recognised this as a scam with the creation of the PP invoice as the criminals' mechanism to get my email address and then send the fraudulent PP messages to con me into sending the item. Also checked the address I'd sent it to and said it looked like some kind of freight company - bet the phone is out of the country already
Rang the police to report it as well but not likely they will do anything either .
I am a bit shell shocked really - fell such a fool and so annoyed. Ironic that DH was against just giving this phone to DS as it was too expensive - wish we'd done that.
Sorry for the long message - I'm sure most people reading will think 'how could you be so foolish' but if one person is helped by this into not getting caught out like I have then thats all for the good.0 -
