2 hours intense Christmas shopping with DH & DS this morning, managed to get there before 9 so we were home before lunch.
Few more presents purchased as well as some new school trousers that DS needed as I recently had to throw 2 pairs of them away.
Tonight is his end of term show with his drama group - we will drop him off for his dress rehearsal then go for a meal in town ready to get back to watch the show at 7.30.
Tomorrow meeting friends in London so busy spendy weekend.
DH has also announced he has booked his car in for a major service just before Christmas - gotta love a big bill at this time of year :mad:0 -
Well done on getting below £100K Pushkin - that's fab news! :beer:0

My expensive day has continued. Spent £25 on 3 pictures of DS in character for his play - parental pride beats fiscal judgement (but I'm glad
)
Then managed to break my m1sf1t which I am rather addicted to so have just ordered another fitness tracker.0 -
Well today was my last working day of the year :j Haven't done a very good job of spreading my annual leave across the year but I'm not complaining about the long break I now have
DH is away all week, back Friday evening. Plan for this week is to build up the dog walks (currently doing about 10k a day but there is room for improvement now I"m not working).
Also want to do some housework (I know its a glamorous life).
I also want to get organised re Christmas:
Get all presents out of their various hiding places and wrapped
Do list of food that needs to be bought0 -
DS rather randomly emailed me his Christmas list last night - bit annoyed as i have finished buying his presents but it has things on it we haven't got for him. So now I'm torn over exceeding the budget (already too high!) versus him being disappointed. It sure gets harder when they get older.
Harsh as is may sound part of me thinks it would be a good lesson for him to not get everything he asks for. Am a bit conflicted right now. :eek:0 -
Picked up my new car yesterday - it's lush! Am being rather un MFW and driving around a fair bit to get used to it. DH is away but I need him to come home so he can play with it and then explain the features to me. Am chuffed I managed to get music from my phone playing through the car speakers today!
I also wrapped the first Christmas present today - sadly the first of many but psychologically feel better!0 -
Finally a no spending day and I actually made money as I took some trousers back and got a refund. :rotfl:
Still got a few Christmas presents to buy which I'll do next week. The weekend should be relatively cheap, we are going to dinner at friends Sunday, I've said I'll take a dessert which I'll buy but that will be about it.
Really annoyed to find this morning that last years annual travel insurance policy has auto renewed. We won't be travelling abroad for a few months so don't really need it as of now. Think I'll look to see if I can cancel. Am more annoyed that I didn't realise it auto renewed as I try to stay on top of things like that. grrrrr
Have wrapped 2 more presents today - this year's strategy is a few each day
Starting to think about targets (financial) for next year.0 -
Another no spending day, went for a drive in new car with DH and we went for coffee and cake but he paid - result :money:
Just rang travel insurance company and cancelled the policy which they did immediately. Didn't even have the energy to complain about how out of order the auto renew was.
DH and DS have just left for London to go to the theatre so I'm home alone on a Saturday night :cool:0 -
Just done an internet shop at S@insburys - £61 - found a set of vouchers they had sent me - £12 off if spending over £60 - and last weeks's brand match was £9.13 so that came off too.
Total bill was £40 :money:
After all the recent spending am getting my saving mojo back! :T:rotfl::rotfl:0
