Really struggled to get up this morning, think it might be adjusting to the time change, it's certainly thrown the dog's body clock out of whack. Not sure there's any science behind my theory ;)

Had a garden company round to quote for the work we want doing. Does anyone have any experience in this area? We want the following:

    Removal of old patio
New patio laid and step outside new french doors in lounge
New back gate and moved to a slightly different position
    Re-turfing of lawn
    Put in a soak away

Sounds like a lot of work now I've written it out - the guy said 3 men for 2 weeks. Anyway the quote he gave verbally was eye watering (about x2 what I was expecting). Thing is I have no idea if it's competitive or not. Have 2 other companies coming round so we have a few quotes to compare but now feeling daunted by the whole thing.

Bookwork I whole heartedly agree - ironing is even more dangerous with the risk of burns :D

I have a fist sized scar on my stomach from a scald from a iron!!:eek: (the only good thing about it is it covers up about 3 other small scars from ironing!:rotfl::p)

Hi Greent - I think in your case ironing is definitely dangerous and to be avoided at all costs.

My favourite day of the month - financial spreadsheet update, the mortgage reduces a little and the savings increase a little.

    Item MORTGAGE
    01-Apr-15 £109,342
    Difference -£1,330

    Item MONEY MAKING
    01-Apr-15 £279
    Difference £50

    Item DOG FUND
    01-Apr-15 £3,264
    Difference £150

    Item CAR FUND
    01-Apr-15 £4,200
    Difference £700

    Item HALIFAX NISA
    01-Apr-15 £6,920
    Difference £400

Am pleased with the amount made in the 'money making' pot - highest ever :j had 2 cash back payouts & sold something. May be a small amount when put in perspective but it sure gives me a big lift.

Electrician in again today - 2 power outages while he worked and I won't even start on the state of the main bedroom that had to be cleared out before he arrived.

Do you do your ironing naked .
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort

Little bit tipsy as had a beer to celebrate the 4 day weekend. Off to 1ke@ tomorrow and J0hn L£wis to look for furniture for the garden den so some likely spending coming up!

Opened up a FD regular saver account yesterday as I noticed a couple of my accounts are losing their good(ish) interest rates so need to find a new home for them - I don't enjoy all this and get quite muddled with moving money around.

Really should post more stuff on 3b@y to sell but I have really lost my mojo with it - trouble is with also trying to declutter I will be cross later if I just chuck stuff away. Should at least try and sell.

Ike@ trip went well, spent £240 but did get a big tv cabinet, a desk, a clock, a lamp, a new school bag for DS and some candles. Just as well we stopped there as I had to sit in the back of the car on the way home as some of the furniture stretched up across the passenger seat:eek:

Bit of a Brucie bonus in that we ended up having our lunch there for free as their tills had done down and they could only accept cash payment. I had gone to sit down so DH was queueing and paying and he is like royalty and never carries cash so was unable to pay and the cashier just let him have it for nothing.

Been very good and despite my fatigue have just blasted through a few domestic jobs, house is still very much a work in progress but trying to do little bits each day.

Woke up annoying early but nice to sit and have a coffee before getting dressed rather than have the normal chaotic morning rush.

Just had to go up to town to drop DS's school blazer at the dry cleaners - it will certainly challenge them to get it clean as it's in an unbelievable state.

Bought an egg hunt box of chocolates for DH and hid them round the house. I think he felt sad about missing out on it this year with DS being away. Pretty good value actually - £5 for about 15 eggs. I have just eaten one as I had to road test them :D

We are going to London later to the theatre and dinner before hand - thought we should make the effort to do something and make the most of being child free. Although a night out in London feels very extravagant to me.

Just about to have lunch and am then going to give DS's room a good clean - long overdue!

Fab time in London, lovely meal in French bistro & theatre was good - we were in row A so right at the front & for once didn't have DH moaning about lack of leg room :D

    So jobs for today:

    Clean bathroom
    Hoover through downstairs
    Sort washing - (the sequel)
    Finishing touches on den

Garden den is coming together, DH has completed building the furniture and just needs to finish off securing it and making the cables tidy - last part on pain of death!

I look forward to putting the pics up and arranging stuff in there etc. The kind of stuff the boys don't notice or care about !

Also ordered a new tv cabinet for the lounge yesterday - cheeky ;)
