Well then you're met with responses such as "I can't believe you did that."
I haven't rang because 1) I didn't want to cause any problems with my neighbours by getting to social round for something that might be innocent. 2) they would know for a fact it was me as their other neighbours don't speak English. I did hear something once that worried OH and I (heard baby crying, followed by a very loud THUD and then silence) but you have to give them the benefit of the doubt as it was heard once.
Of course they're allowed to raise that baby how they see fit. They know how well sound travels between houses (see my earlier post about them shouting at me through the wall) yet in addition to the baby crying they add to it by shouting at each other as well. Our Rainbow Twins born 17th April 2016

Hour after hour, day after day, week after week - yes.0 -

Added to which the OP is probably exaggerating somewhat.
I think so. Our walls are thin, we can hear loud taking and babies and kids crying, but not when our TV is on.
ETA......I find it odd that so many people are commenting on what bad parents these neighbours must be for leaving a baby crying all day every day, totally believing the OP when she says all this.
Exactly. I pity her poor neighbours. I'd say they'd be pretty mortified if they knew they being discussed in such a way.0 -

You might have a point if we were talking about noise from music or something else that is deliberate and can be stopped.
This is a baby! Babies crying and making noise doesn't come under the category of "I have a right to allow my baby to cry sometimes"
They usually can't help it.
Everyone who says "I have a right to have peace in my home" what do you think the parents can do about a baby if its crying all the time, assuming they have tried everything and are also at their wits end?
The same mother who effs and blinds at her seven year old. The seven year old who winds his mother up by mimicking the baby.
You would be happy and oh so understanding to live next door to them? No you wouldn't unless you could compete for the noise volume.
Lulu and her partner work all day, saving I expect to leave that place. At present they're stuck. But they should not have to hear this day in and out. Would you put up with a dog howling all day? Even if it had a medical condition? No of course not.
It's the friends laughing while the baby cries that's haunting me.0 -

Ever heard the saying it takes a community to raise a child?
As my OH would say don't moan if you're not prepared to do something about it .........whether its a case of phoning SS (and since when has speaking English been a prerequisite for reporting concerns about a child) or go around there and complain......that way you'll know what the situation is2014 Target;

I have, but I disagree to an extent. Did the community choose to have the child? Our Rainbow Twins born 17th April 2016

You have no idea just how much your comment quoted depresses me. Is this really what your generation believes?
I fear for the future of your future children, and your children's children if that is the principle by which the world revolves.0 -

Whilst I agree that the community can play a vital role in a child's upbringing and it is important to be there for each other, I don't understand why I have to put up with this unbearable situation because of that? I didn't make them have a child, nor did the community, and they don't seem to show any consideration for their community with how they are, putting the baby aside.
I believe that I will teach my children that the community will be there for them but that they need to show considerationOur Rainbow Twins born 17th April 2016
