He's fussy. Eats only Felix AGAIL. I live in a small town , shops here not always have it and if they do, not on offer, so I buy it on weekly trip to supermarket. Sometimes food runs out and he sulks. .

How is it your cats fault if you can't buy him enough food to last a week

    Seriously?

As others have said, if you can't be bothered to buy it at the SM - order online ......

  • There are plenty of cats that get stuck in garages and sheds for days and when they come out they are a bit thin but they dont all have kidney issues.

Not all do - but some do .... why would you want to risk that?

Also, it can take a long time for the effects to be seen so you could be storing up damage that will come to light years down the line

Totally agree - if your cat likes something then I really can't see why people complain about them wanting to eat it :(

I'd be happy for either of mine to eat any wet at all - as any is better than none (and it's been an uphill struggle for years to get them to eat any wet)

Some cats will not eat if they don't like it - and why the heck should they

Imagine the food you hate the most - and imagine having is stuck in front of you meal after meal after meal .... you'd be fed up & stressed - so why do people think cats won't feel the same!

Feed it what you want to feed it. They won't go hungry and will eat what you give them eventually.

Not in my experience they won't

Mine is really fussy, and she can changer her mind like the wind....lol.

I usually have shed loads of different stuff in so that eventually she will agree to eat one of them.

Most of the time she now just licks the gravy off, she's getting older now so she just eats what and when she wants....but then miraculously when i'm out will actually eat the food and not just the gravy.

I don't really care...it is what it is, friends who have cats love it, as they score for the stuff she refuses.

She seems to have gone off dry food at the moment, a few months ago used to like the beef flavour....but is having a fish phase right now.

I'm considering going to see a fortune teller to see if she has any ideas about the next few weeks/months....lol...and mine wakes me up every day at around 3am for something or other.

    I am a cat slave.

Glad you have ordered some online, as this will obviously be better for you....and the cat.
Yep...still at it, working out how to retire early.:D....... Going to have to rethink that scenario as have been screwed over by the company. A work in progress.

That's harsh. I've never said I can't be bother to buy it, I not always have an opportunity to buy it . Cat sometimes eats a lot and I haven't got that much space to store.

I guess online shopping is an option for me. I fact, I've just placed order :)

While Lily gets fed the occasional "posh" pouch as a treat, her everyday wet food is Whiskas. But she only eats certain flavours. Luckily Whiskas do one multipack where she will eat it all.

What I do is shop around online and bulk buy for free delivery whoever has it on offer. Going through a cash back website if I can and a discount voucher if there is one about.

I have a folder in my internet browser with all the links so I can check easily once a week or so.

For dry she only eats one flavour of Sainsburys so I make sure to always have at least two full boxes in the cupboard. In case Mum & I are both ill at the same time and can't get out for a week, which has happened!

I realise storage can be an issue, but it sounds like running out is a big problem so am sure a few stacked boxes of cat food in an odd place won't be a huge inconvenience.

Thanks Polly cat I was beginng to think I was going mad as over the years NONE of my cats would eat beef flavoured cat food. They also get fussy so I rotate what I give them (at the moment Morrisons own is acceptable however Whiskas has always been liked by them). i resort to going to different supermarkets just to keep up with their demands.
Couldn't live with out them though.
Find out who you are and do that on purpose (thanks to Owain Wyn Jones quoting Dolly Parton)

    Very strange, tealady.

My old boy ate mainly Whiskas, Felix, Kite-Kat & own brand premium - in gravy or jelly - and I always tried to give him a different taste every day (my OH said I was barmy) but I couldn't buy certain multi-packs 'cos they always had beef in them.

His favourite taste of all though was ......vole.

I've got 3 cats and the fussy one is the female cat. She hates dry biscuits, wants wet for every time she's hungry, which is fine - but she hates turkey flavour, most gravys, canned food, whiskas, kitekat, hi-life, appalaws, any pate type - Hahaha!

She likes felix any kind and oddly enough lidls pouches. The other end of the spectrum is one of my male cats will lick wet food maybe twice but just likes biscuits - Go cat, doesn't like the cheapER supermarket brands, and then we have the other cat who will just stuff his mouth with wet and biscuits and any leftovers :rotfl:

Our cats won't touch beef or lamb.

I know when trying a new brand that they dislike it as they will turn their nose up at it in the morning, race outside, and then an hour later they are both tucking into a freshly caught rodent from the forest behind, and will run off with it out of reach if they see me opening the door to get them.
