I used the MSE/resolver service on the MSE website on 24th April and today 6th May I received a cheque for £160.
Thank you MSE!0 -
I was partially successful with my claim. Of course they were reluctant and tried to make it difficult to claim, e.g. they wanted my membership number, which I explained to them I didn't have since I am not a member anymore, and their phone lines are only open to members - unless you can quote your membership number you will not be connected to an operator, so a lose-lose situation. I did it through Resolver, great app, btw. Anyway, it got escalated higher up. In the end they did agree to refund me but it wasn't what I thought it would be. So I complained to the Ombudsman who ruled in my favour and ordered Experian to refund me. Experian simply never got in touch with me regarding the money they owned me. Neither had they responded to the Ombudsman. Unacceptable I thought, should they not be fined for ignoring the Ombudsman's order?? Ombudsman told me it’s powerless to enforce its own judgments!0

Well done for your successful complaint to the Ombudsman.
Sadly, this is true (although there are plans to change this re enforcement).
Experian are known to be difficult, although going to the media can work wonders (I recall reading a similar reader wrote to This Is Money and one did to a BBC1 consumer affairs programme). After this adverse publicity, Experian refunded them. Please be polite to OPs and remember this is a site for Claimants and Appellants to seek redress against their bank, ex-boss or retailer. If they wanted morality or the view of the IoD or Bank they'd ask them.0 -
I put in a claim on April 21st via resolver, and received a full refund, plus interest, late last week. £39.62 in totalFebruary wins: Theatre tickets0

Hi
I was having a read of the MSE reclaim Credit Expert and read they were misselling products.
I for the past 4 to 5 years have been paying £3.99 per month to them. I thought that would mean i had access to my credit report etc. Turns out that when i logged in although i was paying a fee of £3.99 for the past 5 years I have not been paying the full service. So I had to pay the £14.99 per month.
Am i able to claim the £3.99 which was debited from my account. What was I paying for?
if anyone could help on this one i would really appreciate it!0 -
Got £357,53 refund from experian, not for misselling me anything but i cancelled my membership with them long time ago then 3 month ago noticed they had been taking a monthly membership from my second bank account sneaky sneaky company0

Hello. I've been using Experian for a long time. I have been charged various amounts over the years and up to this July have been charged £9.99. Recently I cancelled due to my Barclay Card Visa giving me the offer of using Experian through them for free.
Obviously, that account is now closed and I need the account details to claim back the insurance. How can I get those details? A simple phone call?
Thanks in advance.0 -

You don't "claim back" anything, you need to complain why you think the service was unsuitable. It sounds like you signed up for the service and have continued to "benefit" from this until now so there is nothing to claim back. Simply cancel the premium and use the free serviceSam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:
People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.
