I paid for CreditExpert for 2 months within the time frame and got a email saying i'll be refunded £11.40.

I'm more surprised there's a lot of people here paying the monthly fee when there's free alternative Clearscore!
  • Hi everyone - i successfully claimed back around 3232 from Experian back in August when i saw Martins article. I was very impressed - used the template that he provided and got a swift reply about it a couple of weeks later and the payment refunded. HOWEVER - since then they have started again to withdraw £14.99 from my account. I queried it and the response i got was -

    *Identity Fraud Expenses Insurance

I can advise that your current membership is priced at £14.99 but does not include a premium for Identity Fraud Expenses Insurance. This feature was removed from our product in 2014, and replaced with an Enhanced Victim of Fraud service, which you currently benefit from as a member of CreditExpert. This provides an additional level of support for those who have fallen victim to identity fraud.

I hope this clarifies the situation for you.

    Kind Regards,

Please can someone advise whether this is fair/correct??? I don't understand how charging me again 14.99 but using a different term is right? Especially as i wasn't informed about it?
  • Well Ive just phoned now and asked for my money back as I believe it was unfairly sold. Not sure of the amounts or the dates but they confirmed all my details on the phone, asked me what had prompted me to call, i said a family member had received a refund and she informed me it was an optional product, i wasnt aware it was. I will receive a letter in 3-5 days once it has been investigated. Anythings better than nothing so I will update when they reply
  • Hi Everyone, I stumbled over this post by accident last Sunday, i used the tool, and today I have £215.56 in my bank from Experian Credit Expert.

2 mins work, wait 3 days, money in bank, if your not sure, just do it, what have you got to lose :)

    Again, Big Thanks.
  • Just to update done it all by phone took less than 10 mins didn't know what I was entitled to. Ended up with over 16 quid in my account 3 days later. Better than a kick in the teeth and so easy
  • With the help from resolver completed my letter and within a week received credit in my bank account from Experian. Thank You Resolver
  • Does anyone know if the Experian account has to be active to claim? I was paying £14.99 a month for 2 years but stopped just over a year ago. I have emailed Experian to ask what my account number is, as they still have me on record
  • Does the account have to be active to claim? I closed mine just over a year ago after paying £14.99 a month for 2 years but found their service and advice totally useless. They still have me on record and have requested my account number
  • I used the tool to generate and send a letter to Experian, and I wasn't too hopeful. However, I had a subscription that covered almost the entire period outlined in the article. I received an acknowledgement email and a few days later I received a full refund for the period:

While we are still not upholding your complaint, as a gesture of goodwill we are giving you a refund amounting to the difference between the price of the full CreditExpert product with insurance and the version without the insurance. In other words, we are refunding you:

    * £5 per month (being the difference between the £14.99 monthly fee you actually paid and the cost of the version of CreditExpert without insurance that we used to sell as a retention product at £9.99 per
    month) for each month that you paid for CreditExpert that included insurance;
    * plus 8% simple interest per year on each £5 payment; and
    * minus any relevant refund that we have already given to you.

    This amounts to:
    Refund £170.00
    Plus interest £35.00
    Total £205.00
We have made this refund payment to the last card that you used to pay for your CreditExpert membership and the transaction will show up as "CreditExpert.co.uk". This may take up to five days to show in your bank account.

Totally worth applying - especially with the tool, it makes it so easy.

I hope this inspires others to apply!

    Hi,

I was a member of experian, but cancelled in 2013, I don't know my membership number, when I login in to the experian site it asks for £14.99!

How can I get my number to make a claim?
