  • Having read the article about the fraud protection I used the free Resolver site to send them an email (first having to ring them up and get my account number as I had cancelled Experian some time ago).

Anyway I had a £225 cheque arrive in the mail this morning. :)

    Thank you MoneySavingExpert.
  • I sent an official complaint to experian and got turned down, will be looking to taking it further
  • After seeing this post I decided to try the process through Resolver. I was unaware of the "optional" cost on my subscription and would have opted-out. I applied a week ago and today got an email saying a refund of £205 has been given to me as goodwill rather than an admittance of fault.

    Thank you MSE!

    Hi,

I just want to thank you for the advice regarding Experian and fraud insurance. Using the Resolver complaints tool that you suggested I sent a complaint using your templates on 15th October and have just received a response letting me know that I will be getting £173 refunded to my account. as a gesture of goodwill.

I've never had the courage to do anything like this before and was worried, but thanks to your simple tool it was easy and fuss free.

    Thanks again.
  • I had an account with Experian CreditExpert up until a year or two ago so I used the Resolver online tool to submit a complaint.

A week later a got a letter through the post with a cheque for £57.45 along with a letter saying "...even though we aren't going to uphold your complaint, we are offering you £50 as a refund plus interest as a gesture of goodwill" (words to that effect anyway).

Well happy with that – literally 'money for nothing'! :T

Cheers Martin :money: that's a few more Christmas presents sorted!

I also used Resolver for this just the other week, and I received a cheque in the post within a week - GBP205 as a gesture of goodwill … thanks MSE!
  • Hi. Just wanted to say a big thank you. I've e-mailed Experian the template letter last week. Today I got a refund of £166. Quite happy!
  • Sent the template email through resolver 10 days ago not had a reply yet how long roughly did it take you guys to hear back?

    thanks
  • I used the extremely easy tool and got £167 within 10 days of filling it out, I wasn't even aware the price hike was due to insurance things, when will these companies learn
