I had been a member of Experian for a brief period that was covered in this and had stumbled across the article by accident. I was a little skeptical at first, made my complaint using the template last Friday and today Experian have offered me £28 refund. Small about, but better than nothing, eh?
Thanks MSE0 -

I was a member of experian, but cancelled in 2013, I don't know my membership number, when I login in to the experian site it asks for £14.99!
How can I get my number to make a claim?
Rob
You shouldn't need it if the account is still there, just write the complaint with enough info for them to find you (including old addresses etc). Do note you can't complain about the monthly fee - while useless, it was not miss-sold, only the credit protection thing)Sam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:
People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.

I was a member of Experian when it was £9.95, until I cancelled in 2013 so I presume I did not have this insurance.
My wife was in for a 14 months 2012 to 2014 and paid £14.95 so I have downloaded the letter for her and will send it today0 -
After reading one of your articles I decided to check when I signed up. I couldn't find my exact start date but found that my first card used expired in 2013. Using your resolver tool I decided to make a claim and use the template. Only a couple of days later £244.87 was deposited into my bank account and a letter followed 2 days after that confirming they upheld my case. Thank you MSE0

Ive just stumbled across this article and ive just checked my personal circumstances - I set it up 19th May 2014 and they took payment on 18th June 2014 (£14.99)
Ive been paying £14.99 every month thereafter.
am I right to think that I have nothing to claim as Experian scrapped the product and re-launched it (without the ID fraud protection for £14.99).0 -
Downloaded the letter template for my wife and sent it in, a week later she got a reply wanting more information so she sent that in. She then got an e mail saying they were sorry she was unhappy and they had sent it on to customer relations.
Looks like they are not paying out as fast as they have been.0 -
Another positive experience here, I used Resolver and the template provided and just received c. £64 into my account - that was from around 10-11 months of having it within the period in question. thank you MoneySavingExpert!0

I used the resolver system to send in my enquiry. Had a message to say customer services were looking into the complaint. Received a cheque in the post last week for £101.17 out of the blue. The only caveat being it was sent to the address I was at when I had the account, luckily my parents. Otherwise wouldn't have got it.0

Got £70 back 4 days after sending the email. Thanks MSE :T0
