The OP will do much better returning the money than ending up in jail like others in similar situations did. How is pointing that out to them not being nice to them?0 -
From experience when I received an unexpected payment into my account (over 10k) my bank wasn't overly helpful initially i was told there was nothing that could be done until the sender asked for it back I spoke to a supervisor who pretty much confirmed the same thing but crucially suggested I put it in a savings account and forget about it until the day came (and it did) when I received notification of the error and made the arrangement to have it removed from account I made some interest off this somewhat legitimately however I never expected to keep the money!
Make of that what you will from my perspective the supervisor gave me great advice!0 -

The OP also made a mistake - spending money that wasn't theirs. You should always make sure you know where money has come from before you spend it.What will your verse be?

Fair point, she has made a mistake though again that makes me think some of the replies labeling her a criminal are just OTT. She’s been naïve perhaps, opportunistic almost certainly, but the reaction seemed disproportionate.0 -

Taking two of the posts at the top of the page as an example, she was called a troll by Jones and accused of all sorts by McKneff.0 -

That’s interesting, I hope nobody would knock you for that because what else could you do really in that situation?
Again it leads to the question of why it took so long for the guy who sent the money to the wrong account to realise!0 -

Well, if you do something illegal, expressly covered by the Theft Act, that does make the offender a criminal.0 -

did you miss post #45? It IS a crime.
The OP is also evasive, as has never answered the questions about the supposed tax rebate which was the excuse for not realising the money wasn't theirs. The questions that get the best answers are the questions that give most detail....0 -
Prospective thieves might wish to read this:

Plenty more on the matter on google.
It's delightful to see that thieves will eventually be brought to justice.
This is also discussed in the media today also.

Those 30%-odd that feel the poor blonde should be allowed to keep her essential designer goods can buy them at auction and give it to her.0
