As something of an old-timer here I support what C-M has to say.
There isn't and wasn't any intention to be rude or even condescending to anyone posting here in the way in which the Newbies Thread was constructed. It contains a huge amount of information put together by volunteers who were limited in the thread's layout by the format of the forum. That is what makes it look dense and unfriendly.
Beauty, or come to that condescension, is very much in the eye of the beholder and is something that I have never read into that thread. But hey, you can't please all the people all the time and so I'm sorry Minty we didn't meet your expectations. As you've probably realised the private parking world is not straightforward and that is how the skimdustry continues to hoodwink otherwise sensible, responsible thinking people every day of the week.My very sincere apologies for those hoping to request off-board assistance but I am now so inundated with requests that in order to do justice to those "already in the system" I am no longer accepting PM's and am unlikely to do so for the foreseeable future (August 2016).
For those seeking more detailed advice and guidance regarding small claims cases arising from private parking issues I recommend that you visit the Private Parking forum on PePiPoo.com0 -

Rock on Minty
This lot hate comments that shows the author isn't one of the mindless flock of people with only virtual friends.

No, I won't stick around to offer help. How can I when I don't know the answers and have been unable to find any. Just criticism for daring to post. How welcome do you think you make new users feel? Would it not be kinder to allow people to start the thread and then just point them to a friendly pinned post which gives the answer rather than SHOUTING AT PEOPLE IN CAPITAL LETTERS TO TELL THEM TO NEVER DARE START A THREAD ABOUT DEBT COLLECTORS BECAUSE THIS FORUM IS NOT ABOUT DEBT COLLECTORS EVEN IF THE DEBT DOES RELATE TO A PCN?
Oh and lets use lots of acronyms. Great. You want people to understand your disability but you think using acronyms abou PCNs, PCCs, LBCCs is helpful. Disabilities come in all shapes and sizes. Somebody posted in the post above mine about how fearful she was about asking ANY questions. Did anyone worry about her disability? It certainly doesn't look that way.
I am a member of plenty of forums. I have specialist and professional knowledge on some topics and on forums where I have that specialist knowledge I do stay and help out 'for free'. You are not the only people in the world running forums but this is the first forum I've ever come across that tells people to shut up before they have even dared to open their mouths. That's my feedback. Take it or leave it.
I'm off back to my selfish world where people are a little more tolerant and helpful towards each other.
No! You asked for help, were pointed at about the most helpful and comprehensive guide there is - Which includes all info, including acronyms and simple, specific instructions for your individual situation.
Then you feign ignorance of the basic standards of conduct you agreed to and start bumping your gums about it - A self-help ethos pervades this board. In fact it was one of the very reasons it was set-up in the first place. So don't expect to be relieved of all personal responsibility when you face a problem.0 -
bumping this thread seeing as we are still getting threads about DR PLUS and small claims solicitors
people are going to come here and post for help, yes they should do some homework and try to follow forum rules but oh well. all forums work like this one across the net, power hungry admins and members with agendas and s*** loads of brownie points calling the tune and spouting off how they want and expect the general public to behave if they even dare come and post here.
why not stop posting to debt collector threads period? exercise some of your own debt collector advice, IGNORE.0 -
you just don't get it, you and all the other regulars, its human nature, that's why debt collectors exist in the first place. this thread is just as pointless as the debt collector threads, bump all you like, make it a sticky, total waste of time.

Lets get this straight, some numpty has trawled through my previous posts so he/she can gain brownie points from his/hers virtual friends :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
A very unoriginal reaction from the fragile minded, 'Why so serious? Let's put a smile on that face!'

People who really needed help with PCN appeals (the point of this forum) were being missed, slipping pages down without answers. I recall sometimes going back ten pages to pick up unanswered threads because the forum got cluttered with drivel about Rossendales and DRPlus. Because people can't be arsed to read what's under their nose on the forum already, and easily Googled or searched on the forum. I would work my way back multiple pages sometimes, every day, to get it all back on course, only to find the same rubbish the next day.
Hence the NEWBIES thread, so we just need to link post #4 if a few people haven't bothered to read the sticky threads. Most seem to find the info just fine, we know that because this issue occurs much less than it did when we were drowning in such threads.
That's the point. Debt collector letters are not what this forum is about and nor are they urgent, nor do the posters need help. Flippin' heck they only have to Google 'Debt Recovery Plus' and they'd have their answers, whereas appeals need specific assistance, as do court defences.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
