Guilty as charged. I started a thread after receiving a letter from Zenith. I have tried to read the newbies thread but frankly it's complex trying to find the bits that actually relate to my situation. But seriously, if my asking really causes such a problem then I beg you not to read and not to answer my query. Leave it to someone who doesn't mind. It really is that simple. I'm admin on a site and we get asked the same old same old. Asking people to read back, in my opinion, makes it sound like you really can't be bothered and if you really can't be bothered then why are you here? I don't mind being pointed elsewhere to find the answer to my query but I'm being made to feel bad for daring to start a thread because in searching through the hundreds of links on the very long posts in the newbies thread I didn't come across anything that answered my questions. Perhaps I'm on the wrong site. I was mistakenly under the impression that this is what this site was for.

whikst I understand your frustration, this forum is about parking invoices, not debt collector letters

you can receive debt collector letters for dozens of reasons, not all about parking charges

once its gone to a debt collector from the creditor its no longer a parking issue, nor a parking charge issue

had it been for a plumber for a boiler part you wouldnt post it on a parking forum or a car forum, you would loke for debt advice like CAG , Consumer Action Group

its this tunnel vision mentality about parking that makes people post interminable questions about debt collectors, despite the fact that millions of words have already been typed and there are no NEW issues, only rehashed old ones

all that we are asking is that you use the parking forum to ask for help about parking issues, not debt collectors or debt collector issues

believe me, there is nothing new to say about debt collectors, its been said, ad nauseum

we are here to try to help those that have only just started the process, not those its too late to help

plus we find that most people (possibly including you) just hit and run on the forums, dont stick around to help others (like we do) and are like one hit wonders, here , ask , gone , never to return and never pass the info on to others who ask the same interminable questions about debt collectors

nor do these people ever seem to use the return key to make paragraphs in their posts ;)

    good luck

I'm sorry but the post in the Newbies Sticky solely dealing with debt collectors is neither long or difficult to relate to!

    eg:
    'IGNORE THE DEBT COLLECTORS' STAGE

    DO NOT PANIC!

    http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showpost.php?p=64350600&postcount=4

If you find that difficult to deal with, then I suggest you may have problems that are more pressing than just a debt collector on your back?

I think the problem with this page lies in the condescending attitude of those who appear to take ownership of it.

Hitting the return key to make paragraphs isn't required every time you type a full stop. It is meant to indicate a change in time or topic or similar. Like I have just done here.

I have to say this is one of the unfriendliest forums I have ever visited. As someone above said, you don't exactly make people feel welcome to ask any question lest they somehow offend you because someone asked once before and post number 6 of one of the numerous threads for newbies, which newbies MUST read in full following ALL hyperlinks, has already answered that.

Frankly it's quicker to wade through statute and case law than your condescending, unwelcoming and unfriendly posts daring anyone to start a new thread.

I might not be sticking around, but only because I don't like you; not because I can't be bothered to answer other people's questions. However, I think my advice on paragraphing to you, is way more informative than I have found you. :T Then again, I I might stick around and tell you when to use full stops too.

    You're welcome.

    Bye

But before you get to post number four you are forced to read the LONGEST ever post where you HAVE to follow ALL of the hyperlinks. Yes the blue ones!

Seriously! Don't ever become teachers will you? Any of you.

I'm guessing you're all a bunch of retired or unemployed grumpy old men. There. I can be judgemental too.

which shows how selfish you are because that wall of text you and others create is terrible for people with disabilities like myself who come here who suffer from mild dyslexia which makes it difficult to read, plus other maladies too

making white space between the paragraphs is essential for others to read it properly, like you just did and I have just done, its got nothing to do with adding full stops and yes I make spelling mystakes @t tymes too but there you go, its life

you showed you can do it when its pointed out, but you choose not to because its more work, you dont think of others, only yourself, which is why you have made fun of my disabilities, because you dont think !! you seem to think its clever to mock the afflicted

you have totally missed the point about using legal forums like CAG or legal beagles for issues with debt collectors

you have missed the point that as soon as this PPC trapped you with a speculative invoice its no longer about parking

you have missed the point that parking companies exist to make money and profits, its not about parking management

you have missed the point that they make silly rules that they know people will break so they can harass those people for 6 years for extortionate amounts of money, using threats and debt collectors

if you have a new parking ticket issued then yes start a new thread and we will help, but we cannot help on historical issues where the debt collectors are already involved because its past the point of no return

its like getting on a plane and being mithered to buy, buy , buy for 6 hours (or in this case pay , pay , pay for 6 years) - you are a captive audience , so you cannot get off, you are not in control again until the end of the journey , its like you have been kidnapped , put on a plane and subjected to torture for a long period of time, a bit like GITMO if you will

but as you cannot stand to be criticised over this debt collector lark you lash out without knowing the full facts and are unwilling to see it from the point of view of those volunteers who give their time freely on a daily basis

I bet you wont volunteer to help out on here and answer all the debt collector questions in the future

nope, all you will do is hit the ground running and not come back, leaving us to repeat ourselves ad nauseum

so I thank you in advance for your lack of future help on these matters

good luck in your selfish world

ps:- and coupon-mad is a lady, with a family, hard working and still helps out on here , for free , unlike YOU

No, I won't stick around to offer help. How can I when I don't know the answers and have been unable to find any. Just criticism for daring to post. How welcome do you think you make new users feel? Would it not be kinder to allow people to start the thread and then just point them to a friendly pinned post which gives the answer rather than SHOUTING AT PEOPLE IN CAPITAL LETTERS TO TELL THEM TO NEVER DARE START A THREAD ABOUT DEBT COLLECTORS BECAUSE THIS FORUM IS NOT ABOUT DEBT COLLECTORS EVEN IF THE DEBT DOES RELATE TO A PCN?

Oh and lets use lots of acronyms. Great. You want people to understand your disability but you think using acronyms abou PCNs, PCCs, LBCCs is helpful. Disabilities come in all shapes and sizes. Somebody posted in the post above mine about how fearful she was about asking ANY questions. Did anyone worry about her disability? It certainly doesn't look that way.

I am a member of plenty of forums. I have specialist and professional knowledge on some topics and on forums where I have that specialist knowledge I do stay and help out 'for free'. You are not the only people in the world running forums but this is the first forum I've ever come across that tells people to shut up before they have even dared to open their mouths. That's my feedback. Take it or leave it.

I'm off back to my selfish world where people are a little more tolerant and helpful towards each other.

There. I can be judgemental too.

I am not a grumpy old man, I'm a woman and considered by my friends to be one of the most laid back, friendly & happy people they know (except when idiots bother me and I'm not talking about CURRENT posters here nor parking firms. MSE Towers know who I am talking about and so do a few others).

But thanks for bumping this thread because people do need to read this so they learn to ignore debt collectors. This is a forum for appealing parking tickets and we could not do that when the forum got cluttered with pointless threads about debt collector letters. That was why I started the NEWBIES thread, when we were not able to keep up. It's worked, we now keep up! Just every so often people post about debt letters and we can just show them post #4 if they've missed it.

You do not have to read posts 1, 2 and 3 first, following every hyperlink - why would anyone do that?!

Anyway I would not have created such a clear thread as this one unless we were desperate - and we were very desperate because (not to put too fine a point on it) posters like you were stopping us helping people who needed to appeal.
