It was fear of the seatbelt extender that had me lose 30lb in the 3 months before I came out to Cyprus (currently on day 16 of my hols :) ) That plus the worry that my flab might seep on to some poor stranger :rotfl:

After 24 days of wine and ice cream the return journey may not be so comfortable for my neighbour!

WOW- 30lbs in 3 months is amazing! :D:j Well done you! Enjoy the rest of your time away and recharge yourself :)

Hi catlady (I'm a dog person but don't hold that against me ;))
Love the thread - have subscribed.

I'm a food spender/fritterer too and could do with losing around 10lbs to be at my fighting weight so to speak so will follow you with interest
    Good luck!
  • A wee tip that might be helpful for weight loss and meal planning that I've tried is using Slimming World 7 day meal planners, you can get them free on their website (or pick up the odd magazine in waiting rooms lol). Hubbie has already lost over half a stone and because they are for 4 people I freeze the leftovers! Enjoying your diary :)

Well done on the weight loss and happy holidays. I did some exercise today but have pigged out on fry up food and mars bar ice cream. Tomorrow is another (fat) day...

I've no control of meals at the moment as my parents are feeding us. I think my Mum must be on some unhealthy eating plan as lunch was sausage rolls and donuts and tea will be sausage chips and beans

Seems a bit pointless that weighed out 35g of bran flakes this morning :rotfl:

I promised the littlies ice cream at the harbour this evening. I've had my heart set on trying a scoop of dark chocolate ice cream so I guess I'll have to draw a line under today and be 'good' tomorrow. No chance of saving myself through swimming either as a new family arrived yesterday and all the kids are out there (with mine and others that have been here a while) having a whale of a time with various mammoth flotation devices. It's like swimming through a mine filed of hoops, dolphins and orange monsters :rotfl:

  • Morning all :j

Hi WelshWoofer I love dogs too so you are more than welcome here! Would love to have a dog but we are not in the house enough :( One day! Do you have any pooches?

Thanks for the tip Tabithabooboo 7 day planner sounds great! have never tried Slimming world or any of their recipes before. I lost loads of weight with weight watchers years ago. Tried to get back into it but can't get my head round the new ProPoints and having 49 treat points!!! Plus am terrible for having points left over and eating them for the sake of eating them :p Seems odd if you aren't hungry!

Ali-t Mars bar ice cream! Yum! why have I never had this?! Also if you have done exercise at least you are trying! I'm bad for "oh well, today is ruined, start again Monday" Why is it always Monday?!

Nintud sounds like your parents are feeding you up, must be a parent thing :) Your kids must be having a ball, you can't beat being on holidays- enjoy the rest of your time! Hope you got some dark choc ice cream- sounds amazing! That's 2 type of ice creams now that I have never tried- this is not helpful for my diet and the food demons that talk inside my head :rotfl:

Day off work :j:D:j Am just back and feels like have never been away?! Has been a busy few days, have got a massive work list of to dos already  Oh well, keeps me busy!

Am so proud- NO MONEY HAS BEEN SPENT AT WORK!!! :D:j:T We have both spent nothing at work over past 2 days, this is a huge achievement for us. By taking in our meals we are eating better as well as saving pennies. Plus it tastes far nicer. Win all round!

Paid £30 off CC2, felt good! I just love adjusting my signature! also use whatsthecost.com (awesome snowballing site) so see it reducing on there. Have still got till Friday to know where we are at but looks like will have a little bit left over to pay off :T Have got a few bits to get today- not much and just a little top up shop. Will write a list so nothing extra gets put in basket!

Did plan to go to see a friend who lives up north today but she and the smallies are ill :( It will save me a lot on fuel but would rather have seen her.

Food wise, I have been an :A Made beef goulash in slow cooker- was lovely. Can't believe how tasty food is using the slow cooker and how easy! Last night I was starving driving home from work and normally would have bought rubbish on way way home to eat in car :o Coming in and just heating it up was brilliant. Has only been 2 days of better eating but it feels so good for both my body and my mind! Need to tackle the exercise demon though.... am not great at motivating myself for that!

    Plans today....

*top up shop-WRITE LIST AND STICK TO IT!
    *investigate some recipes
*make lentil soup- need recipe. Have got stock and lentils and some veg so will see what else I need
*set up standing order for DSS football training. He has started at a new team and loves it. His mum already pays for other football training. This team is more focused and plays lots of games, he absolutely loves football, spends all his time kicking a ball so really do not grudge this money at all.
*do some tidying and cleaning. Did the flylady routines on Monday before work- wow those ladies work hard! I struggled to get it all done! Never did anything yesterday but shall follow routines today :)

Whoops, very long post :o Am a bit of a waffler :rotfl: Am off to see if some of you lovely people have diaries I can follow to cheer you on and get tips :D

Hi crazycatlady, I think the only thing I left in the cupboard when I came away was lentils so I could do with that recipe too!

The dark chocolate ice cream was amazing. I must never find a source of it at home :rotfl:

Well done on the cc payment. I'll be attacking mine with gusto next week.

Littlest is now on one swim disc per arm. I had intended to go all dfw and put them on eBay once he'd conquered the last disc but.... We left them on a sunbed by the pool overnight and the local cats found them. They've clearly had fun teething kittens on them because three have chunks missing! I'll put the two undamaged discs on eBay for 99p and offer to throw the damaged-but-still-work ones in for nowt if the winning bidder wants them.

Kep on with the good work :T

  • I'm back! What a crazy exhausting week it has been. Work has been pretty awful, have had to do stupid hours and got called in on my day off on Tuesday :( Am off today and feeling refreshed although really need to do some housework!

Despite the craziness of work, I have managed to keep my healthy eating on track and when I weighed in on Monday, I have lost 4lbs :j:T:j:T So so pleased and am keeping going. Am so proud I never gave up when the going got tough! Have also been fizzy drinks free for nearly 2 weeks now!

Money wise, we are doing well. Still taking in food for work. DH did food shopping when I was called into work and went a little crazy. He also went to cash n carry place and spent £89!!! He did buy washing powder that will last forever, a gift for DSS, food and some other bits and pieces but know it would have been less if I was there :rotfl: Trying to incorporate it into the budget for next few weeks so hopefully won't overspend.

Got a code from Very as they were late with a delivery so would get £13.95 off next purchase. Instead of buying something that didn't need and spending more, I have bought a T-shirt (£12, no money spent!) for DSS Christmas. Also worked out that we get paid twice in October so will have an excess pay as our mortgage will be already paid :D This will be put aside for Christmas which I've started planning. Last few years we have ended up using the cards but not this year!

Hope everyone is well, shall be around more hopefully- can't handle another work week like the last one has been :)

Congrats on the weight loss :T

Although I'm grateful when dh does the shopping, it always amazes me how much he spends. He buys what he wants at the time and always too much (three packs of different type tomatoes but only 1 bag of leaves and half a cucumber!). Got to love him for trying :)

Good that you've made a sensible start on Christmas too. I'm bracing myself for an expensive December as ds1 turns 21 on the 28th and I gave dd1 £500 towards her first car and a sat nav for her 21st so would like to do the same for him. I've put about £200 away so far but will need to find the rest plus Christmas spends over the next 4 months. Much as I love Christmas, I'm determined to keep it sensible this year.

  • We'll have been missing in action again! Work absolutely crazy as well as finding out some other news...... I'm pregnant! _party_ :D:j Very very early days, am only 4 weeks and 2 days. Found out on Tuesday, tested because I'm crazy and always have been testing every month early! Came up with a very faint line so did a clear blue test (which was the longest wait of my life!) and it came up pregnant! Not told anybody yet (apart from hubby obv!) so feels strange announcing it here but good not to have such a big secret! Won't be telling anybody until 12 weeks. I had 2 miscarriages last year, both around the 6 week mark so am keeping everything crossed this time. Have got a VERY sore chest and feeling a bit queasy too as well as soooo tired!

So that news has REALLY put our debt busting onto overdrive! We will need to clear it before due date (May) Planning today to see what extra steps I can take to getting rid of more debt- have got a big reason to focus on now!

Spent a bit too much this last couple of weeks on going out so need to reign that in. Have got a meal out for a 40th tonight so dunno how much that will be. No alcohol though, dunno how I'm going to get away with not drinking?! Am with MIL and FIL is driving us there and picking us up. Shall need to ponder that one.....

Will hopefully have a little money left over at day before payday (Thursday) for paying towards debt. Have got DSS birthday next week but got money aside for that. Just need to get a couple of bits for his cake.

Over the last 2 days, me and hubby have received 3 letters between us offering more credit to our current debt accounts?! I think because we aren't spending on them but are paying them off that they are trying to entice us! Not a chance! We will be debt free!

Hope anybody reading is doing well, shall try to keep coming on here. It keeps me sane :)
