Thanks to my new supporters! Really does mean a lot to know that people are watching you and willing you to succeed
Chevalier those clothes are definitely staring accusingly! Some of them are saying "why did you buy me if I didn't fit and you wanted to slim down to wear me?" Others are saying, "you used to wear me all the time, you said I was your favourite, what's changed?" :rotfl: I WILL have my wardrobe back, am back to work on Mondayafter a fantastic 2 weeks off so will be on the healthy eating (not a diet as I believe that word makes me fail!) Have been reading some funny quotes about dieting, shall share some....
"I've been dieting ALL morning, am I skinny yet?!"
"It's called diet because all the other four letter words were taken"
"Whoever snuck the s into fast food was smart"
"I wish weight was like virginity- once lost you can't get it back"
"You are what you eat- I need to eat a skinny person"
:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: made me laugh
Have made a lovely chicken casserole with my free veg from yesterday. Hubby and DSS thought it was great so that's a recipe to use againI have LOADS of cookbooks with all these amazing recipes in them and I hardly ever cook. This is now changing!
The new and improved frugal (ish) me is committing to cooking something new every week! Now it's written on here I can't go back on that....:)
Spent £10 today from household budget as we had a charity thing we promised we would take DSS to. However- that's it!! Really pleased, normally we would stop by supermarket and buy some junk. Hubby away out tonight to a friends and DSS out playing so is just me! My plan is to make chilli (one thing I used to always make-love it!) and tidy up a bit. Crazy stuff for a Saturday night
Have had a bit of a headache yesterday and today and realised today I think I know why- I haven't had any fizzy juice. I am terrible with fizzy juice, especially coke zero. Drink far too much of it. Don't buy it for the house but would normally buy a small bottle when out (costing £1.25 a time, see why I am in debt?!) I stopped drinking it about a year ago as realised how bad I was getting and got a headache then. It was a friend who said it was probably that due to all the rubbish that's in fizzy drinks. Think that's right! I haven't had any as I don't want to spend any money :money: but that will help my health too! Shall keep drinking lots of water :A
Right, am off to make my chilli. 2 things in one day- this is unheard of! Plus have taken one of the reduced ham hocks out of the freezer for tomorrow. Not quite sure what to do with it so shall need to do some investigation!
Hope everyone is well and having a lovely weekend

Just cut out the fizzy drinks..............once you have been off them for a few days the headaches will stop.
Water will help you feel full and is great for the skin and well being.
Don't know what the tap water is like where you are? Ours is ok and I am too tight to buy water :rotfl:Make £10 a Day Feb .....£75.... March... £65......April...£90.....May £20.....June £35.......July £600 -
Yup you are right KM, am gonna stay away from them! I drink loads of water anyway, live in bonnie Scotland so the water is great
Plus free :money: which is a massive bonus!

I like my fizzy drinks too but only sugar free. I compromise by buying shop's own brands so I get 3 x 2L bottles per week for £1.50 from Tesco.
Well done on getting al your ducks in a row. I had a similar lightbulb moment but lost some willpower as it was quite difficult to make massive spending changes AND eating changes all at the same time.
Debt is getting under control and spending habits are getting much better, and I think I'l try to tackle the weight loss again as next years resolution!
Good luck!0 -
Good luck giving up the fizzy....it's something I really need to try & do too...maybe I could join you??!

I hear you crazycatlady on all counts. I'm going on holiday in 2.5 weeks and today is the day I try on the holiday clothes and cry. Why didn't I start the diet in January and I would have lost all the weight by now aaaargh. Cue last minute diet and exercise frenzy - if I don't I might need a seatbelt extender on the plane - eek!
Well done with the changes you are making! If you always do what you have always done, you will always get what you always got!0 -
It was fear of the seatbelt extender that had me lose 30lb in the 3 months before I came out to Cyprus (currently on day 16 of my hols
) That plus the worry that my flab might seep on to some poor stranger :rotfl:

What matters is how we live and love and how we spend our dash. (L Ellis)0 -
Day 3 of being fizzy free :j:beer::D
Merrylegs1 fizzy wine is def exempt from the fizzy free-ness. Wine is essential! I should know, I had enough of it last night.....
Yup, after I stopped browsing :money: my DH called to say for me to come round to his 'boys night' Turns out that the other wives were coming back from a day out and all the kids were there too! So off me and DSS trotted, was only planning to stay for a couple of soft (non-fizzy of course!) drinks then get away. Ended up all staying, drinking wine and chatting till 4:30am! Felt a bit fuzzy this morning but all good now! Of course never made my chilli....
Went to Aldi this morning and bought some lunch stuff and fruit- came to £28! Admittedly our fridge now looks like a Subway counter with all the options for rolls/sandwiches:rotfl: We will use everything though (I hope!) I then went to B&M (love that shop) to get some Tupperware boxes for all my cooking
Spent £21 but got quite a lot of food bits that I needed as well as some house bits and even a little stocking filler for Xmas! Will have to do a little top up during week for fresh bits but that's it! Feel very organised :A
Have got chilli cooking just now as well as a ham hock in the slow cooker. Going to shred it, see how much meat there is and hopefully get enough for a meal and some extra bits and I'll make soup. Am really enjoying cooking
Back to work tomorrowNot looking forward to it! Am on a late shift so will take chilli in with me for dinner and will have a NSD! Well apart from fuel but can't help that.
Well done seduLOUs on getting debt and spending under control- hope I'll be joining you soon!
Roxy7699 free fizzy drinks?! Wow, I'd never be able to give up then!
Good luck Ali-t on the emergency diet- why do we always leave these things to the last minute?! I do the exact same! My plan is to hopefully lose a good bit of weight for Christmas. Well, that's the plan, I just need to stick to it!
Debt wise, not much happening really. Need to check how much is on statement for CC2 and pay some off. I just need to keep making savings in our budget as well as making some money on eBay. Will know where we are at by Friday as working on a weekly budget starting on Fridays.
Here's to good week
