We had a great time! A tonne of soup left for the freezer too, although the last time I froze potato and leek soup it went a bit sort of curdled when I defrosted it :rotfl:
Not much to report today. Going to get my head down and have a good days work.
Still grappling re the utilities refund... just when I think they can't make more of a mess of it they do!! Apparently the refund will hit our account on Thursday, and they've added another £20 to our compensation. Won't hold my breath  When (if!) the money does arrive it will be going off the overdraft so disappointingly it won't affect our debt total (but will save us OD changes, which is obviously good).
This weeks meals will revolve around roast dinner leftovers! DH found an absolutely enormous joint of pork for a bargain price- it only just fit in our biggest roasting tin! So, pork curry, pork strognaoff, pork sandwiches, spicy tomato pork... you get the ideaTotal Starting Debt August 2014- £38,061

Use a hand blender to 'bring it together again'Be the change you want to see -with apologies to Gandhi

Feverish fluey child has put a stop to my productive week, poor thing
Spent a fortune topping up supplies of calpol (supermarket own of course) and other cold/flu survival remedies today, why does everything always run out at the same time?
Early night for everyone and hopefully a better day tomorrow! Not looking as though we will hit our £900 target this month which is a shame but better to aim high and fall short than aim low I think. We will get below £30k next month anyway, only a few weeks away. £481 to go... so near and yet so far!Total Starting Debt August 2014- £38,061

Hope little one is feeling better soon. It's amazing, even when you buy supermarket's own, how expensive things can be. Best to have it in for the germy months though.

Little one is feeling better thankfully, off school again today but hopefully back tomorrow.
Feel as though we are treading water a bit this month, and I can't see next month being much better what with Christmas coming up and everything. Starting to look forward to the New Year!Total Starting Debt August 2014- £38,061

Oooh just got our latest CC statement e-mailed- when I checked it against my spreadsheet I found we had paid off £31 more than I thought we had! Woo hoo!
Even more excitingly that little £31 has meant we have now paid off 20% of our debt! Nice little milestone!
£449 to go to get under £30k! I should have about £200 coming in before the end of the month so less than £200 to find...Total Starting Debt August 2014- £38,061

What a lovely treat for the New Year, starting under 30k and having paid off more than 20% of your debt by then. Well done you, great going.Debt - CCV £3792

Thanks DF
We are going to celebrate clearing 20% by having steak for tea, nice treat
Feels great to be almost into £2XXXX territory but at the same time it's still like... urgh... £30k to get through. So much money
Been trying to cheer myself up with some positives!
First positive is that DH should get a payrise in April which we reckon will give us another £150 a month.
Second positive is that although our loan won't be paid off until December 2016, we should actually have more in our offset savings than we owe in May 2016, and when the loan is fully paid off we should hopefully have nearly £8k in savings.
Third positive is that actually... 2016 isn't soooo far away is it? In 6 weeks time we'll be able to say that we'll hopefully be debt free NEXT YEAR
Hope everyone is having a lovely weekend!Total Starting Debt August 2014- £38,061
