Maybe the server hasn't had adequate training due to management not giving a toss, and doesn't realise his mistake.
Or he doesn't give a toss and is potentially putting people's health at risk cause he can't be arsed to follow correct procedure.
Either way it should be highlighted (before a Nun with a box of kittens gets served poisoned food and keels over into the path of a bus full of children)
OR
He made a one off mistake...may not be anything to do with training or giving a toss.
It happens.
Get over it.
Oh and your example is ridiculously over the top and melodramatic.0 -

Of course it's pretty widely known. It's also pretty widely ignored in a lot of establishments. As are other rules and regulations relating to hygiene and food handling.0 -

So on the basis that there are a lot of sloppy people out there, I should just ignore the fact when sloppy practices are observed when I am ordering food?
If he spits on it in front of me too, should I just ignore that because it happens all the time behind closed doors?0 -
This is definitely complaint worthy I feel. I wouldn't want to eat food that's been handled by someone who hasn't washed their hands. BK or not - it's disgusting."Always fulfil your needs, only fulfil your wants when your needs are no longer a concern" - citricsquid0

No, of course you shouldn't.
What you also shouldn't do is meekly accept the food and throw it straight in the bin when you have left the shop.0 -
Saw a server ddo this in a Morleys the other day - I was quick to tell him that he is going to wash his hands before he served me - he asked why and I said because he just handleedc money and it was a fundamental thing to do for food hygene.
He soon did but looked a bit annoyed.
I noticed that there was no hygene number posted anywhere in the shop so I should be more vigilant!Dont rock the boat

So the lesson is, always pay with card. Problem solved. Now away with you to think up other fantasy situations for the internet to solve. Oh and be sure to post this receipt, no point in threatening to do something and failing to follow through with it.0

OP
Why didn't you not go to the Booths supermarket round the corner and get one of their great sandwiches?
So much healthier for you and they have some great flavours. I love shopping in Booths.0
