He probably does but I do not want to be the potential catalyst to him losing his job. Life is hard enough, without things like that happening to people.

OP, do you ever eat pre prepared sandwiches or other pre prepared food ? Or eat anywhere other than home ? Stupid question really i suppose, of course you do.

Now, how do you think those lovely triangular sarnies and the like get into their lovely cardboard boxes/trays/packets ? Do you think they're untouched by human hand ?

But by not making a complaint, either at the time to the individual concerned or higher up, the situation will remain the same and the individual may continue with unhygienic practices.

Maybe the server hasn't had adequate training due to management not giving a toss, and doesn't realise his mistake.

Or he doesn't give a toss and is potentially putting people's health at risk cause he can't be arsed to follow correct procedure.

Either way it should be highlighted (before a Nun with a box of kittens gets served poisoned food and keels over into the path of a bus full of children )

It is pretty widely known in the food industry, that you must not handle food after handling cash without washing your hands. Pretty basic rule number 1 type scenario.
