  • We have now had two offers, but the second one was a joke.

We are going to ask the Agent to try to get the first guy to offer a little more, but not to lose him, and we will accept his offer subject to him obtaining a mortgage.

  • The guy has withdrawn his offer for 'personal reasons'. :(

We have had one further viewing booked, he didn't turn up the first time, is already rebooked for Friday.

  • Yay! Another viewing, man viewing obo his mum who is returning from the States. He loves it. Says he is going to recommend his mum takes it and will make a 'sensible' offer.

    Excited!

Just been and spent £1000 on furniture in celebration. :rotfl:

  • Had another viewing from a young family, first-time buyers, who loved it. They want a second viewing with their oldest daughter (11) but have told the EA they are likely to put in an offer. :)

The man buying obo his mum has not yet put in the offer he said he was going to make.

So potentially two offers, but might end up with none.

We are having some furniture delivered to the bungalow this week so with some we can spare from the house we should have enough to manage and are intending to move in after our hols in September, whether the house is sold or not. At least it will stay tidy for viewings!

On a humorous note, I am buying a new number for the house and some letters (A, B and C) for our three sheds :)

We had one shed, a chalet style one, erected earlier in the summer. This will be my husband's 'hobbies' shed where he will keep all his motorbike stuff and his artist materials. This will be Shed A.

Shed B is being erected next week, just an ordinary style one, this will be for garden tools, power tools and other tools, lawnmower, etc. This will be Shed B.

There is also an old metal shed with no door up a corner, that we were going to demolish, but we have now decided it will be good for things that we need to keep but are not valuable, like paint tins, spare tiles, spare laminate, spare timber etc. It will also be a good base for our cats when we are not in, we can put their beds in there. We have bought two Virginia Creeper plants to scramble over it and we will just keep the doorway and window free, it will look nice when it is covered. This will be Shed C.

Our garden is long and because of the way it is planted we cannot see any of the sheds from the house :) Shed A is nearest the house behind a large bay bush and the other two are right at the very bottom of the garden, at either side of the garden, and can't be seen because of a lilac bush and an apple tree :) . They are all in what will be our vegetable garden.

Also our orangery is being started tomorrow, it should take five weeks.

    Excited!!

We have an offer from the young couple, higher than the last one we received, they have been checked out by the EA and are proceedable, have mortgage in place, FTBs, so no chain at either end. We have instructed solicitors this morning.

We are still considering a holiday home. We looked at two apartments in the same block, the first needed too much doing to it, but the second was lovely and needs nothing doing. Just two downsides - it is first floor (we wanted ground) and it is more expensive than we would like, although if it was ground floor we would probably stretch the budget to buy it. The village however, is beautiful and property is always going to cost more than in nearby places. We looked at another apartment while we were there, and although we could have lived with the tiny kitchen, the living area was also tiny, so we discounted it.

Anyway, we have a second viewing in a couple of weeks, then we will decide. We might put in a cheeky offer as it has been for sale for seven months. Here it is:

How do you both feel about the outside steps, especially in wet or icy weather?

This is one of the things that we are not happy with - still trying to decide whether it is worth the compromise to get a place in that village.
