How does that affect an online purchase?

If you need to contact the company by phone about anything to do with the order or the product then it will cost you.

Which is charged at a local rate. Its just a non geographical number so that if we move offices we don't have to change numbers. Since starting the company we've moved three times.

Calls to 0844 numbers can cost up to 11 pence per minute and a connection cost of up to 10 pence per call, this would be much higher when phoning from a mobile phone,

A lot of people now have all inclusive minutes to 01. 02 and 03 numbers on their home and mobile phones which does not cost them to phone you.

You could use an 0800 number if you was concerned about moving premises, you could then take that number with you. An 0800 number is free to call from a landline.

Or you could use an 03 number which you could also take with you which is included in most call plans and would be free to phone from a landline or mobile.

Most companies are now changing their customer service numbers from 0844 to 03 numbers including Sky, Argos and many more.

Your 0844 number is not a local rate as when I phone a local number I do not pay these extortionate prices, that is my reason why I will not use companies that use these numbers.

It may be charged at a local rate but it looks expensive. Stating call costs on your site may help. It wouldn't stop me buying from you but I wouldn't contact you by phone.

If you want to find out call costs, I would speak to your service provider. The company doesn't set the call costs for 0844/0845 number, the service provider does.

Appreciate the feedback, but I'm pretty such the charges for calling our number are about 50% lower than the figures you stated with no connection cost. I will verify this on Monday as we make no money from anyone calling us and do our absolute best to minimise any costs for customers.

    To find the call costs,
You have to look up the pricing code here: http://www.bt.com/pricing/current/Call_Charges_boo/1632_d0e5.htm#1632-d0e5

Then find the price here: http://www.productsandservices.bt.com/consumer/consumerProducts/pdf/SpecialisedNos.pdf

Well done BT. Thats really straightforward.

I bought some, they are great. Thanks to OP for pointing them out as I'd been looking for cheap b22's for ages but not found any the right spec at the right price.

I think these bulbs sold by a 3rd party

Nope - it looks like it's just elstimpo himself on eBay.
