Ahhhh I did wonder why I hadn't received any interest on my new TSB account... that would explain it...;)... thanks0 -

Hi samj2007 - thanks for stopping by
Overpaying is quite addictive but you can soon see the benefits..even from the smallest of amounts. Best of luck with your journey.0 -
Well it's the middle of another week. All downhill to the weekend
Not much to report on the money front except for a £3 survey payment which has been Op'd as usual.0 -

Good Morning
Had a bit of a lie in today... although not as long as I would have liked as next door have got workmen in the garden and they are very noisy indeed! Ahh well, more time to peruse the internet
Money news:
£36 OP made - which was 2x survey payments and some work expenses back.
I'm close to payout levels on a few survey sites and it's both tantalising and frustarting at the same time :rotfl:
Hoping the weather is going to be nice today so I can get outside and get a couple of garden tidying jobs done. Although I was very good last night and mowed the lawn when I got home from work, so that's one thing off the to-do list already!
Have a great day

Morning
Finding it hard not to be spendy at the moment. There are so many things I want to do to the house but can't afford to do. I'm finding it hard to decide what I want to do most/first. It's times likes this, it would be really nice to have someone else to 'bounce' this stuff off.
In fact the same can be said for MFW stuff and lookng after finances in general. There are lots of MFW'ers and so they do exist out in the world...so why is it so hard to find people in RL that think the same?
Anyways, enough musing for a Sunday morning...
Watched this movie last night. Had some sad parts but also some lovely ones and I enjoyed it.
Have a great day all

I know what you mean BW about wanting to do so much in the house but not being able to afford to do it. I usually try and do as much as I can myself and get vouchers from surveys for DIY/housey stores to help. I do also allocate a small amount per month for house repairs/things in my budget too. Could you aim to do one house 'thing' per year? Maybe do up a room each year. Then buy the things you need when the sales are on? I managed to save a fortune on bedroom furniture by doing this.
I think us Brits are very private about our money affairs so you probably know some people in RL who are paying off their mortgage early, they just don't speak about it. Generally, I don't speak about it to people, only close family and people on this board. And the only people I know who paid their mortgage off early are my grandparents - speaking to them, they had the same mindset that I do, but everyone else was telling them that they were daft. Quite similar to today really where people either can't afford to op or would rather have more stuff now, I suppose.
Have a lovely Sunday
