When I rang our original company to say I didn't want to renew they offered to do something but I politely pointed out theirs was £200 more so unassumed they wouldn't price match.

  • Hello Bookworm,

Congratulations on last year's overpayments. It is hard to do on your own and you are doing really well. The aggro at work must be a real motivation in making overpayments as you get nearer to the time when you can escape it!
Paid off mortgage nine years early in 2013. Now picking and choosing our work to fit in with the rest of our lives!
Still thrifty though, after all these years:D

Wow this month (& year) seem to be whizzing past! Thanks for stopping by Hidden, Cath and SSS :)

I moved the car insurance. Saved myself over £120 :T Still waiting on my documents though - can't believe such a big well know company doesn't have electronic documents in this day and age!

Was away last weekend spending time with family and friends as it was my birthday. Had some lovely (and very unexpected) gifts. Feel very lucky.

Even with the above, managed to get to the end of the month with £109 left of my wages. Well chuffed with that. Have resisted urge to send as an OP - as keeping it to go towards car insurance payment. My immediate slush fund account (not EF) is pretty much reduced to nothing - so I want to build that back up again. That will mean having a couple of fairly frugal months...but I need it!!

I have a few things penciled in the calender already for next few months and want to make sure I have enough funds to cover them. Definitely need to get spending back under control!

I was pleased with myself yesterday as was very tempted by some offers in the SM and also some reduced items. However, I realised I didn't really need them and have plenty of food in already - so I walked away. Small victory, but it all helps :)

Low key weekend planned. Happy to be pottering at home and recharging batteries after a busy week at work. Got a joint of pork in the SC - looking forward to that later

    Thanks Hidden :)

Another wet day here so mainly pottering around at home. I did pop out earlier to collect an order from a well known catalogue shop ;) The items were as good as free as using up vouchers.

I have also had my first go at baking madelines....never had them before so nothing to compare to... but they taste ok as far as I can tell :p
  • A belated happy birthday BW! :bdaycake: Glad to hear you had a lovely time.

Another busy week...busy seems to be the new norm...still throwing me off balance...but I continue to try and win the battle

As we are into the new month, a quick update on figures:

    Balance - £73,711.99
    LTV - 64.09%
    Daily Interest - £3.73

Large cc bill was paid off in full....only thing on it now is car insurance...and I have the money for that. Need to try and stay on track going forwards

    Surveys
    £10 voucher received from CP
£10.15 requested from PB - waiting for it to hit my account
I'm close to payout on OneP too

    Plodding along...

Plodding is good. Your daily interest is fab. I've heard of challenges of earning your daily interest through surveys etc. It's possible with that great rate.

    Good Morning all

It's a cold one in my corner of the world. There has been a smattering of snow overnight but only enough to make things look pretty, not to cause too many problems.

It's been another busy week on my work roundabout. I can't believe how the time flies past just now  Also had a trip to the capital for a meeting. Was nice to have a change of scenery but makes it a long day (with early start and late getting home)

Couple of OP's this week - Hally reward (still smarting this is now £3 instead of £5 but hey ho) and also a PB survey payment of £10.15.

I've also requested my OneP payment of £40 - so just waiting for that to land

Getting ever close to the YG payment too - hopefully that won't take too much longer

Right need to shake a leg and get moving or will be sat here all day!

    Have a good one
