Good Afternoon :hello:
I thought it was about time I showed my face in here. Can't really believe it's been over 2 months since I last posted! Not really been up to anything particularly exciting either.
Work is still a pita. The year ended up being so ridiculously busy that I was just lurching from crisis to crisis which I am finding incredibly stressful and can't be sustained indefinitely. I have my annual review due shortly and I intend to raise it with my manager (again!). I'm hoping that in a more formal setting, they will take more notice
I've managed a couple of theatre trips and comedy nights. Some were booked months ago and some were more of an impromptu thing. All very enjoyable and it was lovely to 'escape' RL for a few hours
Had a bit of a de-clutter and sold a few items online. Amazing what people will buy! It's a win win as I get both money and space back!
Spending has gotten a little out of hand again. Although, looking back on here, it does seem to do that every year towards the end to some extent. MSE ways haven't been totally forgotten though as I'm still making OP's where I can. They are not very big but I'm working on the slow & steady principle I'll come back to updated figures later.
What else, oh yes, and I also managed to break a finger! Ouchie!! So it's certainly been a mixed bag for me seeing out the end of 2016. I'm hoping that 2017 is going to be a little kinder

Well done on the decluttering Bookworm. Hope your finger heals quickly.MFW 91 op 2014 £410/1000
MFW 91 op 2015 £4051/4000
MFW 91 op 2016 £4040/4000
MFW 91 op 2017 £812/45000 -
Ok so here is a summary of where I ended up at the end of 2016:
LTV - 64.73% (down from 69.82%)
Balance - £74,447.63 (down from £80,296.13)
End date - reduced by 32 months - now Feb 2030
Daily interest - £3.76 (down from £8.21) - can't take all the credit for that as my mid year remortgage helped.
OP's for 2016 - £3110.63 (this was lower than 2015 £4015.92) - I always knew it would be a stretch to match or beat it since I bought a new car (whoops )
Total OP's since starting MFW - £14,500 :j - I was £13.75 off so couldn't resist sending one last OP to round up to that figure for a neat end to the year
Surveys - I earned a total of £668.25 (year before was £695.05) - so pretty close and I eased off with this at the end of last year due to lack of time

Happy New Year BW. It's good to see you.
Those are some fantastic figures there, well done! :T Sorry to hear about work (and your finger) - hope it didn't happen by poking your boss in the eye
Hope 2017 is kind to you.

Good to see you back! I hope 2017 goes well for you, both work and health wise.
Fabulous figures on the debt front. Glad to see I'm not the only one interested in tidy numbers for summarising purposes.0 -
Thanks for stopping in MG & Hidden
MG - that idea about poking my boss in the eye made me It definitely wasn't that but perhaps I will change my story next time someone asks
Not too much to report this week. Work has been the main focus (again ) ...and oh dealing with crazy weather. It's been very erractic and feel like have had all the seasons at one stage or another!
£40 received from 3 different survey companies - so a good start to the year with those
Today I need to look into car insurance (boring but necessary). My renewal has come in around £90 higher than last year Hopefully I can find a better deal elsewhere
Have a super Sunday all

That is a good start with the survey money. Our renewal quote was extortionate this time. If I get the promised Cashback from the new provider it will make a nice mortgage OP.Apr 2024 - part 1 - £30,337 part 2 - £24,811 Total - £55,148 43 months to go!0

Silver linings eh Cath
Well unless the current company agrees to reduce, looks like I will be moving provider for sure. It's a shame as they have been great when I have needed them but I can't ignore the level of savings available. Frontrunner is a price that is 24% cheaper than my renewal quote0 -
Good luck with the renewal - we'll be dealing with that in a few months and I'm not looking forward to it.0
