Yeah payday loans are not great are they on a credit report. Apparently my bank sends a secure email to your online account with a decision in a few minutes.

I would definitely go down this route then. Get the payday loans all consolidated and any CC's which are high interest. Then you'll know an exact amount that is going to only one or two companies, instead of payments here there and everywhere.

    Hope you're successful getting loan!

Well I now have a £2500 loan. Should arrive in a few days. Minimum could apply for was £1500 and decided that a small loan was enough. I am considering it a £2000 loan as will clear my overdraft with it. Will also clear the 2 Paydayloans will which will probably cost about £1200-£1400 after charges and interest.

Spoke to ex-OH for about 25 minutes there. All our notices have been given on flat/utilities. In terms of the flat contents as our flat was tiny we dont have much... the sofa, bed, bedroom furniture are all past their best- the sofa was second hand and the bed/bedroom furniture came from my bedroom at parent's house.

However, we have a newish flatscreen. OH wants to take this to his brother's flat and has offered me some money as we bought it 50/50. Think I might just let him have it.

Thanks, I will post the SOA once I am back at home and settled. Think we might officially hand keys back to letting agent next Saturday or possibly Monday.

Try asking them for a cash settlement figure first.
Most payday loan companies will just be glad to get back the original amount borrowed, it costs them money to sell it on to a DCA you see, you may find they will accept a payment excluding charges and interest, if paid up quickly.;)

Could save you a few hundred quid.

oh that's a great idea, I don't know anything about PDL's but if you can save a few 100's by just asking/haggling a bit that'll be a big help.

    Hi San,

Really glad to hear you've started the ball rolling.

You can prob raise about £6k for your car, maybe that's a good way to go? You could just walk for a bit and then get a cheap car.

New job sounds great!! Just what you needed at the moment, thank your lucky star! Everything is going to be alright

    Sending hugs

Well done San - it sounds like you have averted the immediate crises :T

Now the panic stations have been stood down you need to commit to the changes you need to make for a better future...
For what it's worth here's my two penneth...
    1) pay off the payday loans and never again!
    2) let the ex have the tele - life is too short!
    3) Give your parents their money back ASAP (either in one go or a set amount each month that ensures they are repaid in time.
    4) do a statement of affairs and see how much you need to earn to meet your commitments including debt/ paying your folks back and some rent/ split bills or get them some groceries each week - whatever is appropriate in your family (if you cannot meet your commitments then you will know if you need to sell your car and pay off your finance)
    5) read and learn about the YNAB approach (you need a budget). Try the free trial software -if you love it it could transform your attitude to spending & saving...you won't want to buy a £140 wedding outfit if you can buy a £60 one and save £80 to your "holiday fund" or even borrow the outfit and save the whole £140 :rotfl:

    Good luck....you can do it!

Well done, glad you managed to get a loan sorted.

Re: the TV. This is a tricky one. How much was it when you bought it and how much is the ex offering? Depending on these two answers, I'd be tempted to take the money he is offering. After all, you need the money, let's face it.

Have you heard of swag bucks.com? I've just started and have over 1000 points so far, it's pretty easy to sit and do and can buy Paypal gift cards with it.
