I use regular shampoos/conditioners/shower gel but my mum is a real paraben free advocate. As I'm using things up I am trying to replace with paraben free/sulphate free stuff if I can but quite often you find they just don't work as well. Think things are improving though so I might make more of an effort as surely it's got to be better for you and your hair?
Anyone else got any thoughts on paraben free/sulphate free beauty products?
I'd like to hear recommendations if you have any?
Personally, I don't buy into the "parabens are awful" argument but to each their ownI have had some mini-hits and a fair few misses when trying sulphate-free stuff over the years but as you say, demand and interest is higher than ever and as a result, I'd like to think that the "hit rate" will improve too. Having dry, naturally curly hair, I would love to find a sulphate free poo which shouldn't dry out my curls too much but still provide adequate cleansing of my scalp. Unfortunately all I've ever found are ones which leave my hair in a tangled, knotty mess or my scalp still felt dirty after washing
I did have a little bit of success with the Palmers Olive Oil shampoo which was touted as sulphate free but halfway through the bottle, I researched the ingredients near the top of the list and discovered a fair bit on research which suggests that they're just as "bad" as SLS, if not worse! It was about that time that I threw my toys out the pram and had a strop :rotfl: and moved back to Tresemme Naturals, which have lower sulphate levels in the poo and no silicones in the dish. I really don't think that's made much difference either
Big waffle therebut I too would be interested in hearing any product recommendations. Shampoos and conditioners are (a) my biggest stash and (2) the area where I have wasted the most money. Expensive business, this holy grail hunt :rotfl:

So pleased that your dress is perfectWhen I'm feeling overwhelmed, I HAVE to think about one task at a time, otherwise I go into meltdown. Once your car is back up and running, I'm sure you'll feel less "helpless" (was certainly the case for me when I wrote off my car in the snow and I was STUCK in the small town in Mid Wales where I used to live for almost a month ) and it should make your house hunt much more straightforward too. Thinking of you, chin up

I'm currently using the L'Oreal everstrong shampoos which are ok for sulphate free and better than the Naked range for me as I have oily scalp / dry ends.
The best I've found so far is the Tigi Bed Head for curls in the purple tubes. Once I've finished my current ones I'll be tracking down one of the tween sets in TK Maxx. The pink Bed Head for volume are also SLS free but I'm not sure about the rest of the range.Emergency Fund - £8572.39 / £10,000 :: Mortgage OP 2025 - £LISA 24/25 - £3200 / £4000 :: NSD 2025 - 2 / 150 :: Books Read: 1 / 52 :: Decluttering - 4 / 1000Engaged 9th December 2010 :: Married 29th October 2015 :: Bought a House 13th January 20170 -
Oh the shame - my Regis order just arrived (to work) in a *HUGE* and incredibly heavy box. And I hadn't realised quite how large 750ml bottles are.
Definitely no need to buy shampoo/conditioner [STRIKE]anytime in the near future [/STRIKE]ever again. Gosh I hope I like them...
The worst thing? I have another (albeit much smaller) order still to come...
Will report my INs later once I've got my goodies home and decided which are for me to keep.MFW 2017 #123 2018: £1,852.64/£39,200 (4.7%)0 -
Sundaysgirl, did you get an email notification that your order had been shipped? I too have placed 2 orders
but haven't heard a peep since.
Just a quick post as I'm at work, just skiving off for 5 mins *cough*ciggie*cough*0 -
Oh this thread sounds like fun!
I think i'll start the challenge and do a stocktake tonight.
I know I have lots of make up and toiletries that I've got stored but never seem to get around to using.
I shall report back post stocktake!

No shipping confirmation (just order confirmation), but given the cost of my order/when placed I was expecting it today anyway as they offer free express delivery. The other order was placed earlier and I'm expecting it sometime this week as they say 3-5 working days as standard. HTH and pleased to see I'm not alone on the naughty step!
