Pug is coming along in terms of build quality in the last 3-4 years, but visually they are not as pretty as a seat, I think pug is getting lost in terms of design the only nice looking car they have is a RCZ which looks like a mk1 audi TT at the front and a audi R8 rear quarters and someone sick on the page for the rear hatch and bumper and called it a masterpeice.0

And the moral of the story is. Never ask anyone what car you should buy. Especially on an open forumI can afford anything that I want.
Just so long as I don't want much.0 -

I always found that, when I was at work. The best way to start an argument(discussion) was to casually mention that you thought such and such a car was good/bad. Within minutes you would be up to your neck in tales about how awful / marvellous that particular car was.I can afford anything that I want.

The worst person i found for talking about buying a car with was my dad. I remember when buying my first one, when i found one i liked he would say "leave it a couple of weeks and he'll be easier to talk to".
So of course i did.
So two weeks later i'd check and if it was still there invariably i got "well if its still there there must be something wrong with it" and if it was sold it was "must have been a good one if it sold quick".
I quickly learned to just buy what pleased me.
I dont think there is one vastly better than the other here, therefore the O/P should buy the one they prefer - ensuring of course they make sure they are getting the best possible deal, as both with depreciate dramatically.0 -
What does "reliability" mean though in the context of a new car?"Einstein never said most of the things attributed to him" - Mark Twain0

I would recommend the seat leon, my neighbour has a 2008 seat which he's had from new and is still very happy with it. Likewise a friend had a seat ibiza and loves it to bits. My father in law used to have a 2003 peugeot (307 or 308 - I can't remember) and it was always going to the garage for bits and pieces.
If I were you go and test drive both back to back and see which you prefer. If you're buying brand new you should have at least 3 years of piece of mind.
Good luck!0 -
I currently have a VW and I can safely say it has been the most troublesome car of all the cars that I have owned (in terms of parts failing). I might just have been unlucky, but next time it will not be a VAG group car that's for sure.0

Maybe this comparison will be a bit helpful:
similarcar.com/en/Peugeot-308-II-Hatchback-5d-1.6-e-HDI-115HP-manual-versus-Seat-Leon-III-Hatchback-1.6-TDI-CR-105HP-manual
Probably would have been much more useful nearly four months ago.
Only a few more posts and you'll be able to spam with real web links. Good luck.0
