Indeed there are many seriously disadvantaged areas in England whose inhabitants must feel utterly aggrieved and ignored.

Ever wonder why Blair offered such a poxy regional assembly to the North East. Was the offer made knowing that,. as the proposal was almost pointless, it was bound to be rejected. Halleluiah they then proclaim, England does not want Regional Assemblies and power devolved.
