I'm just watching Brian Blessed on "Who Do You Think You Are?", it must be, on BBC ONE as someone had left the TV on that - and it's just going from bad to worse to a ridiculous extent - first he finds the children are paupers and are removed to London, then he discovers their father died, then one of the elder of the children (who is described back then - 1822 - as an "idiot", the terminology that we would now call "learning disabilities") dies nine days later. He discovers the others were very quickly baptised, suggesting they were ill and then, unfortunately, that that was indeed the case as the two year old is dead within a month:eek:. Child, who has no clue what is happening, sadly dies at such an age. The remaining children, who just lost their parents and sister, having been removed miles away out of the parish to the place (St Martin in the Fields) obliged to support them.:eek::shocked:
At least there are other surprises in store later.
V annoying programme - of the 2 brothers one vanishes for decades until his brothers 2nd wedding so we never know where he lived, who he married or if there was any children. The other brother has 13 kids.
One of these kids includes Blesseds grandfather so why didn't he talk about his father and that generation and how did they get to be coal miners in Doncaster?
And what happened to the other 12 brothers and sisters?“Create all the happiness you are able to create; remove all the misery you are able to remove. Every day will allow you, --will invite you to add something to the pleasure of others, --or to diminish something of their pains.”0 -

Isn't it strange? I do like nice clothes and make up, toiletries and stuff. I think my previous shoe and handbag over buying habits might just have been my shopaholic tendencies, rather than actually liking what I was buying
I have never been a jewellery person. Or a blingy person. I have pierced ears but never wear earrings. I wear my wedding ring and silver ring my dad bought me as a teenager and I wear a silver chain with a daisy on it that Ive worn forever!! and a very nice but old watch. I never change any of them if I go out, I never buy or wear costume jewellery.
I do have quite a collection of lovely jewellery and I wear none of itmy OH doesn't buy me it anymore

Yes, you can do that.
Although M&S Bank are a little slower and you probably need to put in about 30 - 45 minutes effort to get your £100 gift card...unless you earn £100+ per hour...
Apply online for their current account; wait a day to be accepted/rejected. If accepted, they'll send you a form to sign. You send it back, a few days later you'll get your debit card and PIN. You then ring them up to let them know you want to switch. You then get confirmation a few days letter via post of your switch, you then phone them again to 100% confirm the switch, and at this point, the switching process starts. You should get your gift card within 1 month of the switch completion date.
By no means as quick as Halifax, but as mentioned, worth it for a £100 Gift Card for less than 60 minutes work.
I haven't got M&S in my stable yet but am planning to - I am considering the paid for account as you get £50 vouchers for opening the account plus the switching bonus (but have to pay £10 per month for 3 months). So after fees £20 up and they apparently send other vouchers/offers out too.
Coop are still offering £100 for you, £25 for charity

And If you have any redundant accounts kicking about and two of you have Nationwide accounts (or one of you does and one can open a new one) you can get £50 each recommend a friend bonus:
http://www.nationwide.co.uk/products/current-accounts/landing-page/recommend-a-friend - £35 Quidco Cashback for new accounts (not sure if would work with RAF .. but Quidco says no switch required so could open, get Quidco then switch.

By the way....feel free to chip in Anon.
I know you're quite the master with these sorts of things too. I'm a little tired...although I think I'm correct with the advice I've been giving.
DS3, announced two weeks ago that he was going to set up an ISA and put in £200 per week as he could get 2%…..
I did not go :eek::eek::eek: at the £200 or at the 2%
I gently reminded him that he does not pay board and still owes us for the last two cars, and one years insurance! He went :eek::eek::eek:100 -
No problem.
This really is easy money. No faffing around going to the supermarket for glitches to save the £££s.:o;)
Repeat for other family members.
I'm lucky in that I have very close relationships with my mum and boyfriend. I have done Halifax, M&S, Co-Op and First Direct switching incentives over the past few months for all of us. £1500 in total earned.
Just need some patience and a little organisation.
So again thank you very much0
