You can transfer the money in and out; it only has to be in the account for a split second. I cycle the same £1500 across all current accounts.
With regards to DDs/SOs...it depends on which bank you want to switch to. They all have different T&Cs I'm afraid. Which bank are you thinking?
Thanks karlie. I'm not sure really, as far as I can see there is only co-op, M&S, Halifax and first direct, so any that's easy to do really.
