i agree, i always taught my boys to say please & thank you & even though they sometimes need reminding it makes me feel proud of them when people say how polite they are :)

I too was one of those people who hid from knocks on the door. I remember about 15 years ago when I was trying to get a 2nd mortgage to clear some debts with a fairly dodgy company. I was working for my brother and rushing to the phone box every lunchtime to beg them to put it through. They turned us down luckily and we managed. Not to say we did not remortgage a few times with B/S but these are nearly paid off although some cc debts remain. At last I am able to pay my bills each month and am gradually clearing back debts. Not afraid of opening the door these days. Had a knock last night from nice 15 year old boy from around corner who spoke to me in garden last week asking if he could do my garden. Has his own mower and hedgetrimmer and is supposed to come today to cut my lawns and hedges for me for £20.00. Really nice lad and glad to give him a chance.

:kisses2: people of all ages struggle with manners.

On holiday the waiters came to your table/sunbeds etc to take your drinks order and then brought them back for you, and whilst people watching as you do we noticed some that did not even look in their direction when the drinks arrived never mind a thank you
It was shocking :( seriously who do these people think they are

Gosh, that brought back more memories. I recall seeing an electricity board van pull up outside, we ran upstairs and hid  As for the phone calls, we actually had our phone cut off voluntarily for other reasons (well, I say voluntarily, we simply chose not to pay that bill over others). As you say, it makes us who we are. I simply cannot pay more for anything than I have to anymore!

Sorry, are you meant to be sensible when you grow up? :D

What is the point of growing up then having to act like an adult :rotfl::rotfl:

    I hope not :D
