I remember looking at the sheer amount of money we owed a few years ago and thinking we'd never get sorted.
Luckily the light at the end of the tunnel is now much closer than it used to be.
We ran up a lot of debt, we've fought our backsides off to clear it ourselves, we didn't take the easy route out (we have family members who have gone bankrupt just to clear theirs) and I'm proud to say to my kids we stuffed up but we worked hard to fix our mistakes (and hope they don't make the same ones)
You'll get there too Rose :grouphug:
It's funny how we're talking about financial difficulties this morning....
There was a post on 10 ways about payday loans and now I'm watching a BBC documentary on them...27,000% APR was what one payday loan was charging.

I explained to him that life is full of struggles and people throwing stones at us, and it is up to us what we do with the stones, we either build a wall and block it out or we build a bridge and get over it, to which he replied......................
Nanna, ...................... why dont we just throw the stones back:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

I bought a couple of Suns in a small A this morning, and the nosey assistant asked me if I knew I had two copies. I said yes, and she asked if I was buying for the meat voucher, so I confirmed.
She then said "I think it's only one per household". I put her right with one per customer, and I don't think she liked that!
Very cheeky of her I thought!I Hate Jobsworths!!!0 -

We are all here for one common goal - saving money, so no juding allowed:D. The other niceties, friendships and loveliness are an added bonus :T:A
DS and tigercub took all the sofa seats and backs off last week and stacked them in a huge pile. they came to tell me and thought they would get told off. So i went in, pretended to be cross then said "you just have to wait one minute" and did a huge belly flop into them. Their face were a picture. :rotfl:
There is an amazing poem called "When I am an old woman I shall wear purple". I bought my mum the book as it's her fave...
When I am an old woman I shall wear purple
With a red hat which doesn't go and doesn't suit me.
And I shall spend my pension on brandy and summer gloves
And satin sandals, and say we've no money for butter.
I shall sit down on the pavement when I'm tired
And gobble up samples in shops and press alarm bells
And run my stick along the public railings
And make up for the sobriety of my youth.
I shall go out in my slippers in the rain
And pick the flowers in other people's gardens . . .
But maybe I ought to practice a little now?
So people who know me are not too shocked and surprised
When suddenly I am old, and start to wear purple.
Hi tiger :hello:
Purple is my favourite colour  along with green0 -
Nerfie if you're about I could use your advice
