On a random note, just found these 'literary classics' in the loft

They filmed 'The Ups & Downs of A handyman' in our local pub.
My friend lived there & desperately tried to get herself into the film - we were all of 14 :o

I do love them :D Even though these days, the stories are just repeats of years gone by. They have stood the test of time though!
I love Daphne Broon :rotfl::rotfl: if she was around today she'd be the Broon most normal women could identify with :rotfl::rotfl:

......sorry to anyone who hasn't a clue what we're on about :o

I'm guessing they are used to our random convos mid thread now :D :rotfl:
    So true about Daphne :rotfl:
Used to love being at my Dads on a Sunday as he always got the Sunday Post, I was always straight in there to read

    Newsflash!!

There is a "free" (cost of newspaper;)) £5 off "Fresh Fruit, Veg. & Salad" in the Sun tomorrow as the front page has just been shown on the 'Press Preview' on Sky News. Can't see very clearly if it's no minimum spend or not - as obviously they didn't focus on that part of the paper - it seemed to be 'no minimum spend', if that was printed vertically on the front page, but I couldn't tell from the screen. I can tell you it's on page 18 - I just about managed to make that out:rotfl:.

I thought I'd tune into Sky News as it's part of the same Murdoch ownershop and therefore I thought it might be more likely to feature the Sun:rotfl::rotfl:.

I assume it's the same as last time:D:j:j

Not as daft as it seems. They could probably lease a cooled van for £700 per month, (guessed at that figure, could be less for Tesco) and then fuel on top to keep it cool and a member of staff. more importantly, they dont need any additional planning so can just get on with it. If they had to put up a building, get power to it, fit it out with fridges/freezers etc the bill would run into many thousands, and also could be expensive and heavily delayed to get through planning. Then add in some security etc.. So whilst it seems silly, it probably is more cost effective.

My T had planning refused for a c+c so this is how they got round it.
The food comes from a different store in refrigerated vans and they leave and get replaced every two - three hours.
