Are you absolutely sure you have 'edible' passion fruit? I grew passion flowers in my garden for years and always had a good 'crop' of bright orange egg shaped fruits. They were however ornamental fruit and certainly not for eating. Like you I grew the plant for the gorgeous flowers. Please don't make yourselves ill by eating something you shouldn't!

They're not ornamental, they are an edible variety. Although I believe they have only did so well this year because we have had exceptionally good weather. My neighbour has the same plants, which was what prompted me to grow them myself. He also has an abundance of fruit this year.
My fruits aren't bright orange, they are turning a dark purpley colour now. Thank you for the advice :A

I can see myself driving along the A580 stopping at every newsagent until I hit gold!

And now I don't need to! Thanks locarr. On that note of joy I shall go to bed and dream of stocking up on loads of fruit, of juicing them, of veg etc. and my SADA will probably take them too. Happy days!

They filmed 'The Ups & Downs of A handyman' in our local pub.
My friend lived there & desperately tried to get herself into the film - we were all of 14 :o

Where's that come from (don't need to answer)?
Lol:rotfl:, I was trying to read the "Subject to availability" up the right hand side. So, in tomorrow's Sun or Liverpool Echo, that's a good move:T. "For every reader" - well, I'm a reader of every copy of the Sun I might buy!;):rotfl:

Actually it's not "For every reader" at all, as I assume there is only one voucher per paper and each issue of a newspaper might have more than one reader, so another newspaper promotion that appears not to have followed the guidance of the BCAP (British Code of Advertising Practice) enforced by the Advertising Standards Authority:rotfl: - but I'm not complaining!:D:money: The "subject to availability" - I'm sure they'll be plenty of fruit, salad and veg. in M - it's there just to cover themselves legally isn't it in the event of Carlill vs Carbolic Smoke Ball Co. (1893) - dear, I am fount of knowledge:rotfl::rotfl:!:rotfl:

    On the subject of fruit........
I am going to have an absolutely bumper crop of passion fruit. What on earth can I (well OH :D ) do with it?? We're not really hugely sweet toothed. The kids won't eat it, I dint think. And can you freeze it?? I only grew it because I adore the flowers but it would be such a shame not to use the fruit for something.

I would say juice them with a bit of ginger root and a lemon (for a nice kick) then either drink it or make the juice into ice lollies like the ones in this pic.
I've been making my own lollies with mango, ginger & lemon and they are really nice and cheap too.
