it's easier to change them when they are new rather than rusted:rotfl:

On a serious note there is no guarantee that if i pay £20 for each side than they will last longer, some do and some don't.

I have heard from a few sources now that the cheap versions of these are pretty bad. So I am happy to spend the extra few pounds. Its not like you buy them every week :)

Just paid the bill there, it was £106+ vat, doh. I asked him to break it down, he said the parts were £29 each, plus £48 labour. Happy that they will last though :)

It would be difficult to get renewing a droplink wrong. As far as repairs go, this has got to be as easier than removing a road wheel. Anyone with a spanner, allen key and a bottled of WD40 can do this job.

Try it on a Rover 75 - you have very poor access to the top nut, so an angle grinder or 3 hours of fiddling is closer to the truth.

made my own tool to do that job to make it easier (bent a swan neck spanner, I also put penetrating oil 24hours before the job when doing them DIY style. try doing subframe bushings on one!.
