I'm just passing some time been doing it for some time.
Your arguments would stack up better if there was some HPI though? I bet if you had told the Edinburgh property bulls in 2004 that their flat would be worth roughly the same, minus solicitors fees, in 2014 they would have laughed in your face. Many won`t be laughing now though.0 -

It would but it stacks up ok without although I would say there has been some hpi in Edinburgh since 2004 but it's difficult to tell on that street.
Your to obsessed with bulls when I bought my first house HPI was the last thing on my mind I just wanted a home like most people.0 -

Make a valid point or disappear? This forum was actually full of decent debate, previously opinions where backed up with figures, evidence .... That sort of thing... Not just sound bites like liar loans, hpi etc.0 -

They'd laugh today as well.HOUSE prices in Edinburgh have risen by almost 30 per cent over the past decade, despite the recession.
In Edinburgh, they increased by 28.8 per cent over the period, compared with a massive 98.6 per cent in Aberdeen and the smallest increase, 9.6 per cent, in Glasgow.
And in the meantime, mortgage payments lower than rent, and record low interest rates letting people overpay and save a fortune.“The great enemy of the truth is very often not the lie – deliberate, contrived, and dishonest – but the myth, persistent, persuasive, and unrealistic.
Belief in myths allows the comfort of opinion without the discomfort of thought.”

Too many people said to the banker - "Can I have my HPI please Sir, Three bags full" Unfortunately many got None, but the banker got all his before he ran away. Sad really.
It's not that much of a burning question. Whatever, it's been cheaper to buy and sell it for a 'loss' than rent it for 10 years. You can fantasise all you like that won't be the case but it will.
We could revisit when it comes up on land reg for a laugh but you'll be long gone by then. Back to Planet Crash where the second part of your post might make some sense.0 -

A flat in Edinburgh is up for sale at roughly the same price it last sold for ten years ago. Is that valid enough for you?0 -
