Hey gang
Last check in for August with another SFD in the bagNot done too badly on budgets this month although the fun spends went a little out of control which I was expecting anyway!
.. Must update my signature..
I am looking forward to September and to a fresh start. I have always felt Autumn to be a time for new beginnings anyway and this year happens to coincide with work related changes involving a relocation, better hours and less night shifts.. Im hoping this will give me more energy and the enthusiasm to keep fit and possibly try something new as you suggested mothernerd. I would like to learn to play an instrument although I have no idea which one at the moment lol!..
So its new beginnings to you too Kat! Your drive, determination, enthusiasm and passion for money saving/debt busting and helping/encouraging others has been a shining example to us all.. You will be missed.. *sniff*
Im not one for goodbyes but I wish you well on your new exciting adventure which you so deserve having worked so hard to achieve! Do keep in touch and have a bloomin great time girl! Whoop! :j:T

There's so many interesting posts that I want to reply to each and every one but I'm always so tired so I think I'll do it tomorrow...then there are even more interesting posts and I kinda forget what I was going to say. I've been reading every day though
I felt exactly the same this month. I have read every post but foe some reason didn't quite get round to posting.
Some of my budgets / targets were met but some went out of the window
I stopped counting SFD's on 18th of the month but I had reached my target of 12 so I know I smashed that one :j
If I'm honest I stopped counting everything so in summary I was a little over on my grocery budget, under on personal spends, slightly over on pets.
Exercise was good as I have been walking almost every day. Hopefully after my next couple of physio sessions I will be given the all clear to start some more vigorous exercise routines.
NSK Thank you for all the inspiration you have given to me and everyone else. Enjoy your travels as you deserve it. I will look forward to following you on your blog.
See you all in September when I will try harder

I finish the month with my 12th NSD and an exercise session!
Today I am grateful for kat - like many, for her passion for debt-busting, for the snippets of her life she has shared with us; for a sweaty exercise session; for dd getting to sleep before 10pm(!); for the inspiration I always find on here; for today's sunshine.
See you on the other side!NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
How old is DD Apple? I am so lucky. My DD is in bed before 7 every night. Sleeps through til 7am minimum... Wasn't always this good, but the early nights have always been a constant and I hope to keep it that way. Like me, she is eeeeeeeeeevil without her sleep.
love her!

I love hoodies (band ones are my favourite). I live in mine and pretty much all of them are black.
Finished up the month with a mix of successes. Managed to get my spend free days but need to try harder with exercising.
I wish you every success with your future travels NSK and I thank you for all you have taught me and others.
Have been following your thread (bit of a lurker) and will hopefully be able to find your blog so that I can explore with you. I love travelling but need to get everything sorted out first.
I wish you the best of luck.
Hugs.
I will see the rest of you in the trees (gathering nuts for winter).Mortgage: £0/£80,329.91

Good evening all!
It's been lovely reading everyone's monthly round-ups and best wishes to NSK. I think we definitely should be sharing some virtual cake round to celebrate Kat's next adventure and all of our successes (large and small) over the last couple of years. Calling we shall save your slice for when you are feeling better x

She's 6 and a half. Bedtimes were fine til Feb, when she broke her collarbone, and needed help with everything, including going to the loo. We moved her from her super high bed to the futon while she mended, but her getting-to-sleep ability is still extremely AWOL.
We have a bedtime routine that would send any normal child to the land of nod within nanoseconds, I'm sure! However...she is a worrier, and finds it hard to switch off, but the last 2 nights have been rotters, as she has been fighting off a stinking cold, and was sneezing and snotty pretty constantly. Tonight, she was asleep at 8.45 - shows how poorly she is! - holding my hand.
And I've just seen a text telling me my childcare arrangements for tomorrow have fallen through. My first day back after the summer hols, new head, and I traipse in with a 6yo!!! She'll remember who I am :rotfl:. And she looks soooo like my dh's ex-wife, it's uncanny !NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
Another who has been kind of AWOL this month, again. I have been reading everyday and cheering people on mentally but the love that is never going to happen. Is still not happening.
So much for all my summer garden plans!
Came in on the whole under budget, which is good. For those fellow YNABers, I have now got one month in my buffer, possibly two. I will have to check when I get paid on Friday.
Kat just wanted to say a big thanks for all the motivation and inspiration, probing and nagging too. I have really enjoyed your challenges over the last year.
Good luck with your travels, I am sure it is going to be amazing. I look forward to following your travels.Feb NST #4

 Apple your poor little lady. Collarbones are a horrible thing to break. I dislocated mine and my shoulder a few years back. The slightest bit of cold and I know about it even now. She has my sympathy! There isn't a lot they can do for it! As for her cold,
:(:( *hugs* to both of you. That is the one thing I dread as Jelly literally cannot breathe the sec she lies down. I have taken to propping her bed up on stacks of books at the head end since she was a baby. The only thing that seems to help unless she rolls into a heap at the bottom... Hope she is better soon!!

All these messages of thanks and good luck are making me quite emotional
I think everyone has said everything I wanted to say NSK. Finding your challenges has turned my financial life around and has made me feel so much more savvy and in control. This month my mum even asked me to share my budgeting spreadsheet with her and help her look at her finances, so your legacy is spreading even further than your thread. I will forever be indebted to you and hope that I may pass on your positive influence to others. Make sure you take care of yourself, you are very special to many in the 'real' world as well as on here.
I end August with enthusiasm for September, but guilt and slight regret over some of the choices and spends I have made this month. I intend for September to be a new beginning, I have one week until I have been debt busting for a whole year and I know I have come so far. I am excited for my debt free future! 16 months and counting!
