I have got the free version of YNAB and considering buying it ..has any one purchased this ?? if so what are your thoughts ??

Downloaded the free version a couple of days ago too, so would also be interested to hear any opinions. How are you finding it, Luckystarr?

Magicat - sorry for your loss xx

Luckystarr / Caeraugal - I love YNAB and have now bought it. Truthfully you don't get anything different once you've bought it so the trial is a real representation of the product but its becoming my addiction - checking it daily atm. I also have the phone app so try to record any spending in real time. the systems then sync with each other. I love the fact that I have started to think more about when I spend and what on - appreciating that its not the bottomless pit I thought it was and if I overspend in one category then I have to find it from somewhere else. To put it another way - the cc's haven't been touched yet! at least with YNAB its a one off purchase.

Thanks for that Ninno820 - will see how I get on with the trial. Use MS Money at the moment but like the idea of one big pot of money that YNAB seems to give you.

I like the simple idea that every penny has to have a job assigned to it. It sounds so simple and logical - why didn't I think about that before? Instead I just spent and spent - hence the need to do something about the debt now!

I also did all the webinars - they have recordings if the times don't suit - and found them extremely useful.

I got a lovely refund the other day for being missold by Eon, £104 :)

Used it for bits and pieces I needed around the house so they don't come out of my normal household budget and paid a friend back the money I owed her.

I got a copy of my credit report and I found a bunch more debts, I thought I had written them all down when I got it last time but obviously missed a page. So I will be adding them on to my signature gradually as I contact them or they contact me, not letting it get me down I'm just rolling with the punches lol.

It dos mean my DFD will be a bit further away but what's an extra month or so if it means everything is paid off!

    Have a great day all.

    Hello everyone,

Thanks for your good wishes Tiptoes, Caeraugirl, Fmess, L_D, Luckystarr, LoveaDove, Lilt, & Ninno820 - everyone on here is always so kind and suppportive.

Went to see my mum last night, - she is very sad, there is not much I can do, but I think it was good to be there. Funeral is Mon 18th, manager at work has been great and has told me to have the time and lovely collegue is covering clinic so I don't have to stress about cancelling people.

Stewby - I would cancel N**t as well, I did a while back and really haven't missed it - you can always buy (in the sale) from the website if there's anything you really want in the future.

LoveaDove - thanks for the website - L_D - it turns out the main unit is right near one of the sites I work at, so have registered and booked an appointment for thursday! A bit scared, but it's something I've always meant to do so thank you for spurring me on!

Today I am grateful for supportive people, on here and at work, solar fairy lights that made the garden look really pretty when I came home last night, a lovely cup of chai tea.

    Hello peepity peeps.

YNAB'ers - I had my free trial last month. I found it so useful, the 4 rules are simple and easy to follow. I haven't done a webinar but I have had to go and check the way it handles credit cards etc & found all the online support very good. I found a code online that let me get 20% off (til 31st July sorry), which dropped it to $48 - according to my credit card statement, that is £28.25 although obviously exchange rates change all the time. SO WORTH IT. I spend a lot of time on there, juggling and rejigging. It (and this challenge) got me through a tough time moneywise last month after overspending the previous month or 2. I honestly can't recommend it enough! It makes me think harder before I spend. I know I have to tap it all in, and whilst it doesn't judge, it makes me judge myself! ;) Before you buy if you are really going to, there may be codes online making it cheaper. Check the price for it on 'Steam' which you download but don't have to use in order to enter YNAB. And if all else fails, I am sure someone who is currently using it will happily supply you with their referral code for 10% off, and 10% back to themselves too.

Today is my off duty day. No work. No jellytot. Supposedly no chores. So far I have taken jellytot to nursery, been to CF to get 2 cards with a 15% discount thanks to Him... (15% discount on 2 79p cards is not much but hey every penny counts!!), picked up my prescription, bought chocolate for friends mum in the 99p store (she will appreciate the cheapness LOL) & went to Mr A's, collecting bread, milk & chocolate for me *hides from Kat* & a £6 gift for friends little boy as don't want to leave him out with all the new baby fanfare. I then washed the pots, scrubbed the kitchen, put the washing on, pegged it out, did the basket of ironing, tidied around the house..... anddddddddd RELAX. 12:30 I stopped. Best get my relax on hard. I don't think friend has the chance to let me go over and see new baby today so I am glad I got the bits I needed, as it is all ready, but now I can enjoy a guilt free chill out this afternoon & see her at the weekend.

Needless to say totals have changed:
Nursery fees paid: £237.60 (that is IT, I am done paying now!! :))
Presents/cards for new baby totals: £21.67 (£6.67 today)
Thank you card/present: £1.66 (yep I am that tight)
    Groceries £55.50/£130.00
    SFD 3/12
    Exercise: 3/18

    Enjoy your day everyone! xx
