Posting again but have a quick question for people...

I have £250 in my secret stash (to pay off the credit card in the future).
I have £143.13 to pay in my n3xt account.

I don't really use n3xt anymore (their clothes are expensive and not really my style) and am trying to cancel getting their books (£3.75 for books that I don't even open).

What would people do?? Would they pay off n3xt or keep the money to pay off the credit card??
    :undecided

I am very tempted to get rid of n3xt. I only ever use it in the sales or for wedding outfits and that is just encouraging me to spend money I don't need to.
    Any opinions??

Get rid of them! You won't buy from them again, so they are only profitting from you. Be free!

Sorry to hear of your loss MagicCat

stewby I would pay off the N3xt card and close it. I find the fewer different debts I have, the easier it is to understand my debt.

    Thanks apple muncher :)

Today was a spend day and went out for a prearranged lunch with a friend. The holidays are always my worst time for spending.

I also got a milk, bread etc and petrol, and some wiring to keep the dogs off the new plants. Clumped all my spending into today so tomorrow and Wednesday can be SFDs.

No formal exercise today, did do 16000 steps though :)

So sorry to hear about your loss MagicCat, even though he was a good age it's can still be hard. I'd love to have you on board as my first blood donar recruit though. I'm not sure where you are, but we have the Scottish national blood transfusion service website up here that gives you the criteria for donating and details of where & when you can do it. I'm sure there will be an equivalent website for England and Wales.

I didn't manage a SFD yesterday or today, but shouldn't need to spend anything over the next few days. I helped a tourist out with directions today (which is comical as I have no sense of direction what so ever) even though I was running late for my train. Also got another exercise session in tonight, although now I have rather bruised knees from crawling all over the grass. No pain no gain I suppose!

Magicat - Really sorry to hear of the loss of your Grandad over the weekend. Love to you and your family x

liltdiddylilt- I partook in a store cupboard check over the weekend. It is amazing what little treasures are hidden away in the depths of them! (In my case a packet of Angel delight- yum!)

stewby - The previous successful applicant's contract will have come to an end now. With this particular role, contracts are fixed term for a year normally and are usually stop gaps for similar jobs or further training within the field. Once you've had one contract you are lot more likely to pick up new one's! But to progress in the field I am in I require this particular type of working experience. I am considering even offering my services (as it were!) for free may be one day a week, just to get some experience and a foot in the door. Still early days but a serious consideration none the less! There are always minor 'filler' jobs I can pick up, which I am also applying for, because in all honesty a job is better than none! :)

Thank you all for your words of on-going support!

Stewby, also I think you may have instigated a new obsession with your sharing of Google mapping! I HAD NO IDEA THEY INCLUDED LISTS! (Sorry about the shouting, this is pure enthusiasm!) But your list of places to visit looks superb!

Magicat- Regarding blood donation- visit https://www.blood.co.uk for info, and finding blood donation locations and appointments.

Oh my, best give a speedy update as my post has become somewhat excessive again (apologies!)

Spend day today- Fuel: £10, Groceries: £20 and no changes to other totals.

Feeling uber sleepy so one shall depart for the land of nod!

    N'night money savers!

    Evening everyone.

Firstly, MagicCat I am so sorry for your loss. My own Pop (85) is dying (who isn't at that age) and refusing dialysis now so we don't think it will be long. I am trying my best to think happy thoughts but regardless of how long they live for, you're never ready to let anyone you love go. Sending you a special squeeze and hoping you & your mum are ok.

Stewby you did the right thing paying off Nxt. You still have money for the CC so just work on building that up now. I hope you cancelled that rip-off catalogue! I have a friend who builds up balances like yours was on a monthly basis, leaving her husband to find the money to pay it all off each month, plus her various credit cards etc. Hence I never ever go near a Nxt!

Reports for today: Jellytot has the sniffles. Taking her to see a 3 day old baby with a potential lurgy is just not in my nature so we cancelled and stayed at home instead. SFD #3 caught. I would have spent £8.30 on the train fare, plus needed to buy a card & box of chocs for friends parents who did me a very very lovely turn last month. I will make sure I get bargains, as I think I will go and see them tomorrow instead. Jelly is at nursery unless the lurgy morphs into more than a runny nose (could be more teeth but wasn't taking the risk with a new baby). So that leaves my day free. I was going to batch cook but have no room in the freezer. :rotfl:

L-D I wish I could give blood. I am never able as I have either had an operation too recently or am on such a cocktail of pills that they won't look at me. One day though. I am a rare blood type so should really donate as much as I can when I can!

Off to lurk a bit more then to bed. No lights were on for the last hour. Just one candle and my laptop. Think the laptop is cheating, but I was thinking of the soldiers so surely counts for something. Prince Harry was in my glorious town for a parade today. He was met with a thunderstorm ;) typical.

    Night all xx

Aw, I do love prince Harry. I think he is so sweet and seems so genuine. Seems like such a friendly and innocent guy. I feel sorry for him as he always seems to get caught out and humiliated.
    :(

Thanks for the responses. I have paid off the n3xt account. It all started with needing a new hoover. Due to my non-LBM state of mind, I wanted a dyson so paid out for it... and some clothes. And this is how it all went wrong regarding n3xt.

It's easy to see how similar n3xt is to a credit card in my head. Both are money I don't have but is easy to spend and very easy to forget that it is virtual money, it doesn't exist in real life.
    :o

I am glad someone else can see the benefits of googlemaps!! I use the old version as I find the new version too fiddly (it does layers and stuff which is too complex for me).
The plan is to change the colours of the places we have been to so that we can keep track of where we have been and where we still have to go.
It's to help my memory as well as keep me occupied. It is a free source of entertainment. Very MSE eh.
    ;)

Wow, I think I have spammed the hell out of this thread today so I apologise and hope everyone has a lovely remainder of their evening.
