Snaggles's Debt Diary - Car Loan Challenge

Hello again!
As I'm no longer 'having' a DFW baby (she arrived on 9th May 2007), I thought it was time to leave my old thread behind and start the final push towards becoming debt free.
We have one debt left - a car loan with approximately £4500 outstanding. I want to make sure this is cleared by the end of 2008.
Part of this will hopefully be paid off from a sharesave that is due to mature in August 2008, but I need to raise at least £1500 before then.
Doesn't sound that difficult, but I'm on maternity leave until January and Stu has just been made redundant.
So my plan is:
- Save money each month by sticking religiously to our budget
- Meal plan and cook from scratch (Old Style boards here I come!)
- Find ways of making little bits of extra cash where possible
- Try and reduce our monthly outgoings
- Enter competitions
- Ebay Ebay Ebay
- Anything else I think of as I go along
I will no doubt need the occasional kick up the bum to keep me on track, so don't mince your words guys - if you think I'm wasting money, or making bad decisions (hellooo new hard drive/dvd recorder  ), please say so, I wont be offended..:p
Let's get debt-busting!!! :T :T

Hi Snaggles, hi PAP; how exciting, to have one debt to clear. But absolutely, do not buy a new hard drive, or a DVD recorder! Love PAP's emoticons - I couldn't possibly also give you a kick when you've got that going on! So its a ra-ra-ra from me::T :money: :T2023: the year I get to buy a car0

It does look ever so pretty in my TV cabinet though..."I wasn't wrong, I just wasn't right enough.":smileyhea97800072589250 -
Unfortunately the deed is already done (it's a dvd recorder with a hard drive), hence the reason I need a diary thread - to stop this sort of thing happening in future!!

Oh!! :rotfl: Thats really funny, still giggling here..... I see why you've started the thread!2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -

Hey snaggles, so we're going with the car loan thread instead of my suggestion? It's good to see your new diary, there were quite a few people having panic attacks last night at the thought of the old one going.
All is good in DFW again... phew.:A
