I would like her username too please, sounds like a fussy buyer and also sell clothes0 -
If she's a chancer, I'd call her bluff (politely) with something like this.
Thanks for your message, and sorry that you are unhappy with the item.
However, as you point out, the potential re-sizing issue was highlighted in my original listing, which also clearly outlined measurements. While I would consider returns if I had missed out important information, you note that you saw this info in the listing, therefore I am unable to offer you a refund on return, as the item is as described.
As you say though, you should be able to resell, so I suggest you list the item yourself (you are welcome to use my description for that sale).
(If you're feeling cheeky, you could add something like this - I can see that you often have issues when buying clothes, and I understand that it's frustrating when something is not as you expected, but as I mentioned before, I was very thorough with the description to ensure that buyers knew what they were bidding on).0 -
Thanks RainbowDrops, I was thinking along those lines and your suggestion puts it very succinctly, even the cheeky bit.0

Thank you RainbowDrops, I am going to send her this message later this evening and it is owes almost its' entirety to your original, and yes, I am feeling cheeky.

As you say, it is a prestigious label, and you should be able to resell, so perhaps you should consider listing the item yourself.

I will await the resulting case with interest...

The trouble with sending a message like that (alhough most of us would want to say that) is that she may well end up damaging it on purpose and returning it and ebay will just refund anyway and take it from you and then you'll have lost the postage and not got a saleable item any more.0

I Know, I've just got the devil in me at the moment - hot weather does that...
Having said that I feel that she needs to understand that my description was quite clear, as she makes that same mistake over and over again.0 -

I would certainly not be paying her return postage - and if she were daft enough not to send it tracked...well, it just might not show up.
I hate buyers like this.0 -
just remember to thank her sincerely for being a waste of time & space when you leave her feedback (there is a very fine line between sarcasm & false positive)0

You used to be able to buy in Liberty a half made skirt – elasticated waist, pockets, side seams and Liberty label all done – you just sewed the back seam after adjusting it to your size and turned up the hem to your length. This is one of those and the measurements given below are for it as it is now.
There is scope for it to be undone and adjusted to fit you via the back seam only, but be warned that, due to the back seam allowance, it is at its’ maximum size now and could only be made smaller. Also, making it smaller will result in the pockets becoming more side pockets than front pockets and too much adjustment will make it off balance as the pockets will be too far to the back of the garment.
The hem length is easily altered as it has only been turned up approx half an inch.
All of the seams, hem (original) and pockets have been finished ie overcast, and the back seam is the selvedge edges of the original fabric. Patch pockets.
On the other hand, this would be a great opportunity to acquire some lovely Liberty fabric for patchwork or crafts. It is NOT Tana Lawn.
100% cotton
Machine Wash
33 inches approx Full Length
16 inches approx Waist (side to side elastic relaxed)
This is the message I received today -
Thank you for sending the Liberty skirt so promptly but I'm afraid it is miles too big for me and as you point out making it smaller would change the balance of the pockets and require expensive alteration. I am sorry to give you this bother but feel sure you will be able to resell it with such a prodigious label. I look forward to hearing from you. [I do have your address]
The skirt sold for £8.59 and after fees and postage I had £4.36 for me. I am not a business seller, just having a massive clearout. So now what do I do, refund after return and lose £2.80 cost of sending it to her or refuse and get a negative. Not happy to say the very least.
To be fair, your measurement may have been 'off'
Winding up your bread and butter, isn't really worth it in the long run.
Plus, you should of specified how small the item will go to. Which would of helped.Always open a case if your unhappy with a transaction :money:0
