This is my Item description -
You used to be able to buy in Liberty a half made skirt – elasticated waist, pockets, side seams and Liberty label all done – you just sewed the back seam after adjusting it to your size and turned up the hem to your length. This is one of those and the measurements given below are for it as it is now.
There is scope for it to be undone and adjusted to fit you via the back seam only, but be warned that, due to the back seam allowance, it is at its’ maximum size now and could only be made smaller. Also, making it smaller will result in the pockets becoming more side pockets than front pockets and too much adjustment will make it off balance as the pockets will be too far to the back of the garment.
The hem length is easily altered as it has only been turned up approx half an inch.
All of the seams, hem (original) and pockets have been finished ie overcast, and the back seam is the selvedge edges of the original fabric. Patch pockets.
On the other hand, this would be a great opportunity to acquire some lovely Liberty fabric for patchwork or crafts. It is NOT Tana Lawn.
100% cotton
Machine Wash
33 inches approx Full Length
16 inches approx Waist (side to side elastic relaxed)
This is the message I received today -
Thank you for sending the Liberty skirt so promptly but I'm afraid it is miles too big for me and as you point out making it smaller would change the balance of the pockets and require expensive alteration. I am sorry to give you this bother but feel sure you will be able to resell it with such a prodigious label. I look forward to hearing from you. [I do have your address]
The skirt sold for £8.59 and after fees and postage I had £4.36 for me. I am not a business seller, just having a massive clearout. So now what do I do, refund after return and lose £2.80 cost of sending it to her or refuse and get a negative. Not happy to say the very least.

If they open a case for not as described then you will have to refund regardless of them not reading the text. I normally put any faults or special warnings in bright orange letters and make it bigger than the rest of the text.
It is very frustrating but all you can really do is accept the return, refund them and block them so you never have to deal with them again. To be fair the message you received is far nicer than messages a lot of people would have sent. Its not really worth getting worked up about as they could have done a lot worse.0 -
I'd suggest to them they sell it on themselves. Ultimately you will have to refund if they return it but I wouldn't give them the option just yet.0

Yeah, I would say you have checked the listing and the item is as described and you ar enot obliged to accept returns however, as a goodwill gesture they can return it but you will not refund any postage costs at all, these will be payable by the buyer as the item was bought in error.0

Perhaps suggest she resells it and offer her to use your pictures and description?
The buyer shouldn't win a case (as in her situation is excluded from the terms and conditions), you might have to fight eBay to get the correct result. In the game of chess you can never let your adversary see your pieces0 -
I have just been looking at her feedback left for others, wish I had done this before. She has 41 feedback all as a buyer and they looked good, she pays immediately etc. However, below is a selection of her feedback left for others, total feedback left 34 - comments below 20, that is almost two thirds of feedback left showing discontent even when leaving ‘positive’. I dread to think what her star ratings are like.

This, factored with all the messers, is why ebay will cease to exist.
Almost 50% of the price gone, and then the buyer turns out to be a clown..."Love you Dave Brooker! x"
