Today at my JSA interview I was handed a leaflet for a debt charity called capdebthelp.org. Can anybody tell me if they're any good? Are they reliable?

capdebthelp.org takes you to the home page of Christians Against Poverty which is one of the recognised debt charities which provides free support and advice to people with financial problems. I haven't used them but they are one of the three that people recommend on this forum.

Give them a call and you will find support and understanding. Best move you will make:beer:

I'm too scared to see anybody about suicide, I fear I'd get locked up in police cell, that happened three years ago.

I don't have any money apart from what's left of my overdraft limit. Keeping spending to the absolute minimum. And this is the only debt.

I understand about not being able to tell anyone, I decided not to go to counselling because I new I can't be honest about how I feel since they would bel obliged to tell my employer or GP and likely I'd be stopped working. In truth work is what has kept me going. I don't think locking you up will be a priority, but I can understand it's not something you want to open yourself to again.

Try CAP,what's to lose ? If you are struggling for food,go to CAB, they can access food bank vouchers as well as help you with benefits and appeals.

Don't give up, this is sortable.

    Ugguy,

Nothing will change unless you do something about it, I know it's tough but you really need to speak to someone, don't just sit there getting more scared, make the call to CAP I googled their number for you

    Telephone
    01274 760720

Or some folk try Stepchange, another charity, their number is
0800 1381111, calls are free from most landlines and mobiles.

It's Saturday and admittedly I think both will be closed for the weekend, but they both have websites and you can also get help from your local citizens advice office, ask at the library if you don't now where it is.

Make yourself a plan, write ii down, and make the calls on Monday. Don't give up.

    Hi Ugg

Well done for contacting SC. could you open a 'basic account' with a different bank, coop and Barclays do one, depends who your overdraft was with as you need somewhere else. Or do you have a savings account you could send the money too?

Go back to that optimistic feeling you had and try to keep it in your head when you talk to family. It'll help you all if you feel optimistic when you start talking money, otherwise it's easy to get dragged down by negatives.

Did you ever read the mental health and debt leaflet, there's a link at the top of this page.

You've made steps to sorting this out, don't give up.

I don't trust my dad because we've never really got on.

I've opened another account, but that isn't the problem, the problem is I'm living on a knifeedge all the time. I'm supposed to be looking for work but do not have the money to go to job interviews, I'm now even limited to what jobs I can apply for, unless someone gives me the money for the bus/train fare.

Today about two-thirds of my JSA has gone on bills already and now I only have £40 to last two weeks. That will be my shopping money for this week, next week God only knows what will happen. But going to job interviews will be impossible unless they're walking distance.

You might see me as a scrounger or whatever but I really don't care. I've had enough of life and of people and just don't want to be here anymore.

In any case under United Nations Agenda 2030 we will all be living like this in the next few years or even dead (if you don't believe me google Agenda 2030). If what they say is true -and it certainly seems like it to me as all our living standards are declining at an alarming rate - that we will be living in a Hunger Games-style totalitarian dystopia then I don't want to be here for that anyway.
