That seems a cracking deal for the price and it seems to suit my needs, I would order that tomorrow but when you say HP are awful you've got me confused. So is it a thumbs up or down?

It means that I wouldn't ordinarily recommend HP. It also means that I packing to go travelling soon and don't have that much free time at the mo.

Whilst we accept all in ones on one level such as laptops, I am not enthralled by them. They can do what tower systems can do. However, they do so with some caveats.

I volunteer at a non-profit organisation one or twice a week in addition to my freelance work. They employ a couple of older gen. aluminium bodied all-in-one iMacs, one a 21'' model, the other 24''. The 24'' model has developed a darkening of the screen from the lower left corner inwards. Getting this repaired may not only be costly (don't know if they have Apple Care or not), but would mean the machine is unusable when taken away for repair. It also means having a damn good backup policy as your whole computer is now in someone else's hands (that said, EVERYONE should back up regardless of their situation).

With my Windows 8.1 home made tower, if my screen went on the blink, and I needed one fast, I could buy a cheap no-name, no frills bargain basement monitor or even borrow a spare from someone and use this until I got something better. My files will not be affected nor will my PC be unusable for any great length of time.

Another issue is that most if not all all-in-ones use laptop tech. That's laptop sided HDD's which also tend to be slower. They also use laptop SODIMM memory modules which are pricier if you decide to upgrade the RAM later on.

The OP said they're a light user. So many of my points may be pretty redundant. Would another laptop be suitable? Esp. as the prices have plummeted in recent months. And all you'll need as possible extra's will be a low cost mouse and keyboard. Just about all TV's these days will be HDMI enabled so you should be able to use your laptop with this too.
