Say nothing to them on their return - assuming you ask their offspring to tidy up the mess from their party and they actually do it.

If not, mention it then. If they were somewhat under the influence I doubt a spot of cleaning was first on the list of priorities before going to bed or even on getting up.

You have to be F----g joking - your attitude stinks - it is my garden not theirs which needs cleaning up:mad:

When they get back I would politely mention to them that you had quite a lot of waste food thrown over the fence, that it wasn't a massive problem but you'd be grateful if they could have a word with their children and make sure that it doesn't happen again at their next party.

I think that you are a bit soft on people in general, because I would never have dreamed of doing that to someone elese's property.
They are not "children", because they drive and they drink alcohol:(

This. Same issue with the passive aggressive note too. Just ask them politely to tidy up, their response determines the next move.

Sorry - what are you talking about - "passive aggressive note too"?

The ignorant sods have p---d off and left their rubbish behind, without waiting for me to deal with them.

    No Dave - nobody in!!!!!

The car has gone - before we noticed the rubbish, and the neighbours have not returned.

I will be having a word though, and not a very friendly one.

    It happened once.

Clean it up and move on.

If it happens again, then perhaps start making a deal out of it.
"One day I realised that when you are lying in your grave, it's no good saying, "I was too shy, too frightened."
Because by then you've blown your chances. That's it."

Waiting for you?! They might not know there's an issue if it was done without their knowledge. This, by the sounds of it is a one-off and it's a bit of biodegradable food, I think you need to calm down a bit.

I would just throw the rubbish back in their garden.....

I'd be more upset with the fact they had a party on a Sunday night with me being up for work on the Monday morning.....

Last thing you should have to listen to is a bunch of drunk fools rambling on till the early hours.....

    Some people have no consideration.

Cheers Dave, I think a whole lot of posters have completely missed the point here:(
I remember when my mates and I had parties, but we never upset anyone else.
These idiots are not children, they are young adults, who have no respect for anyone else's property.
Some people on here may think that it is funny to throw your waste food in someone else's garden - that probably says more for their lack of respect and consideration IMO.
