Hello,
Please don't shout at me if I've missed something obvious here, but I today received by appeal rejection letter from Apcoa, and for the life of me, I can't see a POPLA code anywhere.
Based on what I've read, that's what I need at this stage, but where is it?
They have included a POPLA "Parking on Private Land Appeals" letter, encouraging me to file it online, but where is this pesky code, and what do I do if I don't have one? The flow chart doesn't include that eventuality.

The POPLA code is a 10-digit number. It should be somewhere in the rejection letter. Some PPCs include it in the general text, others place it at the top of the letter, often mistaken for their own reference number.
Have another look! Come back if you still can't find it.Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

Thanks, yes I have it! I was looking for something specifically called POPLA code, relating to APCOA.
Thanks for your help.0 -
Ok, so the POPLA appeals page isn't accepting my code. I've tried both the "Verification Code" even though it says "Official Use Only" on the letter, and the PCN number (just in case it's that, and it too is 10 characters), but none of them work.
Should I go back to APCOA - I don't think they've supplied it.0 -
Often it's a browser problem. Try using a different web browser - Firefox, or Google Chrome if using Internet Explorer.
Also check your POPLA code here for authenticity and currency:

Thanks again.
I've tried it on both Firefox and Google Chrome - doesn't work on either.
The checker checked the number out ok.
I'm not convinced about this verification code though - it clearly says "Official use only" next to it - is that normal?0 -
Yep that's normal. It's not that you are trying to 'add evidence' before you have 'appealed' is it? Some people before have clicked on the wrong thing (evidence) and found the POPLA site won't recognise the code until you've gone through step one 'appeal'.
Anyway if not, just post it to the guys at POPLA, snail mail, with the POPLA form stapled to the front of your printed appeal, simples.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Hi there,
Thanks again. You were spot on, I was going through "evidence" before "appeal", so now all seems good. Except for, I'm not sure what I should be saying at this point?
Any advice gratefully received! I can select the "I am not liable for this charge" option, as I was driving the car registered to my wife, but is that all I need to do?0 -

And do I need to add anything in the comments box? Presumably I can't just tick the three boxes and leave it at that, can I?0
-
By comments box, do you mean the one you copy and paste your appeal into? Or is it another box.
I'm afraid I can't remember what the POPLA form online looks like.Newbie thread: go to the top of this page and find these words: Main site > MoneySavingExpert.com Forums > Household & Travel > Motoring > Parking Tickets, Fines & Parking.
