No practical advice about the rat but eugh. We once had an invasion of flies in our kitchen ... shudders. Hope the cats get their act together soon.

I am sooo tired tonight. Had to do a site visit at work this aft which involved a lot of walking and it was so hot. I have reluctantly dusted and hoovered the living room, taken the dog for a walk and now I dont want to move.

Oh Dancemum it was me being silly about the slugs. That is one beautiful shed, wish my garden looked like that!

We had exactly the same problem here Pigpen a few years ago. The Rat Man said the way to deal with them was to build a corridor from where the rat is and open the door to the outside world. The rat will zoom out as fast as it can. It worked for us. For some reason we happened to have a small pile of pieces of wood that were about 2ft x 3ft and I used them. It was gone in a trice.

Having said that, it had been in the dining room overnight after Devil Cat brought it in and thought OH and he could play with it. DC didn't want to play with it on his own and OH doesn't 'do' rats.
    Better is good enough.

Hope Ratty is caught soon x

Ds2 has managed 2 chicken dippers so is on the mend, hopefully.
I have walked to the weigh bridge, I have put on 3lbs in 9.5days. I'm in awe of Ionafan, well done.

I may have to get my knitting out to get my diet back on track. We go away in less than 2 weeks and I'm off to a reunion beginning of October so need to get it under control.

Kitchen tidied and ground floor henried. We have lots of seeds (birch?)blown in through the windows today.

All jobs done today except mowing the lawn and finishing painting the kitchen.

The only time we had live mice in our house was when the cat found a nest of them and brought them in one by one, before hunting them in the house! Aren't pets fantastic ;)
