Which smartphone ? Budget
Options
Okay i'm utterly lost as to which phone would be suitable for my needs.
My previous phone being an iPhone 4S, prior to that 3GS so I don't really know anything other than this.
I now though, need a phone on a budget of typicaly less than £70 (doesn't have to be new, can be refurbished) - PAYG so I can put my own contract sim card in.
I typically use the phone:
Use the internet heavily using 3G connectivity - would like a reasonable speed.
Barclays app - so needs to be windows or android.
Candycrush (ideally but not the end of the world otherwise).
Explore maps app to view routes and alternate routes etc
Needs wi-fi.
Would kinda like a good battery but not a biggie (since iphone batterys are rubbish anyway).
Don't like keypads - so touch screen preferably. I'm currently also using a blackberry bold with a keypad and tiny screen and hating every second of it.
My research is bring in suggestionslike Sony Xperia, HTC, google nexus.
But I don't know what models or what not to choose from.
The internet is littered with options and i'm utterly lost and overloaded.
Please guys any suggestions and experiences?

What's wrong with your 4s? Does the new phone has to be better?
I think for the best value for money you have to search among Nexus and Motorola Moto E/G/4G0 -

Moto E is below £100, but is a little inferior to 4s in some specs.0 -

Unless i'm mis-reading it the spec actually looks better than the iPhone overall. The processor (1.2Ghz) and RAM0 -
Screen is a little worse. So is the back camera (no front one).
Bigger RAM and the card slot are advantages.
Alcatel One Touch Idol is worth checking too. It was £120 at Argos, but OOS now.

I've had a Moto G via Tesco Mobile for a week. Really nice phone and it would tick all of your boxes except on price. The Moto E is a cut down version.
It doesn't come with a mains charger though which keeps the cost down.0 -
Motorola support Israeli army by supplying them with communications supported. If you're not bothered about apartheid fair enough but if you are you might want to give the moto g and e a miss.
I wish somebody had told me this before.Motorola has the exclusive contract to provide the Israeli military with encrypted mobile phone technology. This means that every Israeli boarder guard manning a checkpoint inside of Palestinian territory and every Israeli soldier committing war crimes in the assault on the Gaza Strip takes their orders through a Motorola device.
Motorola "virtual fences" and surveillance systems are used at dozens of illegal Israeli settlements built on Palestinian land. These Jewish-only settlements are a potent symbol Israeli apartheid and are illegal under several international laws, including the 4th Geneva Convention. Settlements use high-tech Motorola equipment to ghettoize Palestinian communities as confiscate their land.
Motorola also has close ties with Aeronautics Defense Systems (ADS), which makes drone aircraft that the Israeli military used during Operation Cast Lead (the most recent assault on the Gaza Strip). Last April Motorola sold their bomb fuze division to ADS, just after Human Rights Watch reported finding debris from Motorola bomb components in the rubble of civilian buildings in the Gaza Strip."fools and fanatics are always so certain of themselves, and wiser people so full of doubts."
