CHRIST ON A BIKE! Put it away. That's hideously vulgar.

No wonder you're embarrassed. Revolting. Despicable. Grotesque. Any many other words indicating disapproval.

The 'high spec' kitchen is one of IKEA's cheapest, although it does look nice. How do I know this? I had one fitted in my own house last year. :)
Are you pleased with it and was is easy to install. I'd like an IKEA kitchen but am concerned if they are different to our standards, I read the plumbing pipe work that we typically have behind the cupboards doesn't work well with IKEA kitchens? Would you recommend?

We are very pleased with it. The quality is fine. My husband and a friend fitted it in a weekend. I can't speak for the plumbing because that was the bit the friend did, although he did not appear to find it difficult. Husband is a good DIY-er.

That really needs a NSFW warning. If one of my design department saw me looking at that, I could be in a lot of trouble.
Q: What kind of discussions aren't allowed?
A: It goes without saying that this site's about MoneySaving.

Q: Why are some Board Guides sometimes unpleasant?
A: We very much hope this isn't the case. But if it is, please make sure you report this, as you would any other forum user's posts, to forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com.

Looking at the photo, the other question that raises eyebrows is why the LL decided to stick that in what looks like a modern kitchen.

    This is ridiculous.

As said previously, unless it is stated specifically in the contract/inventory then you have to deal with it.

The kitchen isn't that great anyway, so get over it.

The kitchen would definitely look better with an integrated appliance or failing that a metal coloured one. That said it is up to the landlord to choose appliances not you. If you want to have complete choice on replacement goods, you need to live in a place you own.

We had an ikea one fitted and you are right the cupboards go all the way back to the wall, so any pipework etc needs to run along the floor or be channeled into the wall.

The ikea fitting service however is expensive - we used a local builder who grumbled a bit about moving the existing services but it wasn't a big deal really. If you are doing it yourself then be prepared to move pipes cables etc.
