Landlord replaced appliance with an inferior one.

Take the sticker off the front, it will look much better.
I hate it when stickers are left on things. Girls who leave the stickers on the soles of their shoes make me cringe.0 -
It would annoy me too. But when you're a tenant you need to compromise on things.
What does the inventory say? Does it make reference to integrated appliances?
Your rent can't increase for 9 months if your lease still has 9months to go. If you hate it that much find a new place to live.0 -
Honestly, the dishwasher looks fine.
I can't imaging anyone would be embarrassed should they see your kitchen.
If your lease doesn't specifically say replaced with like for like or replaced with integrated appliances then your landlord has fulfilled his duty with getting you a new appliance....In fact, he could have just replaced the part rather than getting you a new one, a lot of tenants would be quite pleased to get new appliances.
Your rent can't go up within the fixed term of your contract, so if this genuinely bothers you that much, give notice that you'll be moving out at the end of the contract (before the rent goes up) and move to a different place with a more specific contract.PAYDBX 2016 #55 100% paid! :j Officially bad debt free...don't count my mortgage.
Now to start saving...it's a whole new world!!0 -
embarrassing and disgusting? an eyesore?? It looks like a pretty standard dishwasher in a pretty standard kitchen to me. First world problems indeed.0

The 'high spec' kitchen is one of IKEA's cheapest, although it does look nice. How do I know this? I had one fitted in my own house last year.
That dishwasher looks fine, you are making a fuss about nothing. In fact I find it very sad that someone can make such a fuss about something so absolutely trivial. Stick a cupboard door on it if it upsets you that much.(AKA HRH_MUngo)

Imagine someone holding forth on biology whose only knowledge of the subject is the Book of British Birds, and you have a rough idea of what it feels like to read Richard Dawkins on theology: Terry Eagleton0 -

Perhaps he did repair it but moved it to another property...
We can assume the dishwasher is 2 years old at least. It could be possible, I suppose, that he couldn't be bothered repairing it if he thought it was nearing the end and needed replacing soon anyway.0 -
I've not got much to add in relation to what OP has already been advised about keeping to facts and not using emotive language.
That said, I can imagine if the other appliances are integrated and/or chrome the white dishwasher looks out of place/an eyesore. I'm not certain all white goods with the cream would work at all so I can understand why OP is upset. Rents in Manchester apartments are eye watering, not quite so bad as London but I can understand where OP is coming from about the spec.
All that said, the dishwasher works which is the main point, the landlord presumably did the fastest thing rather than wait to repair the integrated appliance. I would use this as a point when negotiating rent increases.
OP are you certain there is a rent review due now? X0 -
