OK so I thought it would give my car a good run today as I normally do (clean out DPF) I put topdaddys theory to the test, I went into local industrial pulled over and stop kicked in killing engine, my car counts how long it sits in stop mode for, it was still hot at 4:59's when auto start kicked in, probably because the temp had lowered to make the engine start itself to maintain the temp in the cabin. sorry topdaddy but even when I manual click the key off then back onto the ignition not starting the car I still get 2 mins of hot before I start to notice its getting cooler out the blowers.

Proving what you and the rest of us already knew would happen!

Funny i'd thought to take wifies car for a run to video it and prove the same thing, but i'd no real reason to otherwise go and given its not my car and pulling it out of the garage and getting it dirty "to prove someone wrong on the internet" would have sounded a bit lame. :o

In fairness a day like today it was warm anyway, but on the counter it works the same for the climate, so on a warm day, as the cabin temperature increases the engine would cut in again to cool the cabin. It's all clever stuff now.

I won't shoot you down, even after 10 mins the cabin will not be cold, however the vehicle will automatically put the engine back on if needs be, doesn't the car have heated seats and steering wheel too?

    I wish!!!!!

    Simpler than that really

Theres climate control in the car, so it would be fairly clear by moving the temperature setting what the stop start system does to respond.
